Stepping up for the females

I know this has been brought up in a previous topic, but I think that it's time we actually get into a bigger deeper discussion about this and have something resolved about this problem. I have noticed the HUGE amount of sexism on these forums. It seems that everywhere I look on here, all I ever see anymore is the gay furs calling the girls gross because they have tits and a vagina.

I can't stand it anymore. I feel so unwelcome on these forums and in the general fandom just because some immature gay guys won't GROW UP. Last time I checked, gay guys weren't test tube babies, they came out of their mothers vaginas just like EVERYONE ELSE. I don't think that's very gross. It's called LIFE. And the last time I checked, a girl's vagina is the only self cleaning organ in the human body. Not even a penis can clean itself, so GET SCRUBBING.

And yeah I AM A GIRL, but I HATE it when I am identified as icky, or a vagina instead of a person and judged because of things I was born with and are natural. I am a human being, just like anyone else on here is. Nobody likes it when people use "Gay" to describe something stupid. And I think the forums have done a good enough job not using that word for that reason. I am not trying to start drama, I am just trying to find a solution to stop this ongoing problem. My BANNED! thread is already starting to turn into an "Eww girls are gross" thread, and I don't find that welcome. It's not like I tell people HEY I HAVE A VAGINA, BE GROSSED OUT ABOUT IT! Nobody brings up the topic about their cock and have the girls on here go "Eww PENIS!". Even the gay female furs don't do that on here. I am pretty sure we are all adults, not elementary school students who believe in cooties.

Last time I checked, none of the female furs are trying to force themselves onto any of the gay male furs. I would prefer it if you kept your sexist comments to yourself and just let any of the female furs hitting on you know that you are not into girls. And keep it at that.

Also I don't CARE what kind of bashing and flaming and hate I'll get out of this thread. I am doing the right thing by standing up for what I think is right. EQUAL RIGHTS plzkthx. So go ahead and send me messages and comments if you don't like what I have to say. I'm just going to laugh my ass off as I read them.

I haven't been here for that long so perhaps its different with furries, but in my experience, sexism is pretty much dead, and most of the time when someone says something sexist, its not meant as offensive, its just supposed to be funny, even if its not actually funny in the slightest.

most of the time its not particularly funny, no, but, with the ever increasing troll population, and the birth of the ICHC company racist, sexist, and otherwise offensive jokes are becoming more and more popular, most people don't mean them however, its just bad humor, and you shouldn't take offence.

I see this trend elsewhere, unfortunately, especially in discussion of art where an artist has drawn a female character and gay furries come in going "needs more penis' or 'shame it's a girl' or something of the sort instead of just enjoying the art. That's disappointing.

There's this peculiar "All gay furries must be GAY" attitude floating about, lately; It's almost like there's some form of sexuality-focused Stockholm syndrome loose. One where a sexual identity isn't so much something to be had as defended. It's rather obnoxious, and it makes any of the moderate bisexuals (or in my case pansexual) look rather immature. To the culprits? Knock it off. It's really puerile, obnoxious behavior and it will not curry you favor among the more mature members of the community, nor is it going to get you laid. Grow up. I welcome the female members of the community as valuable contributors, heedless of their own orientation (I will more than happily lay into the first idiot to COMPLAIN about the higher incidence of lesbian furs amongst our community-- that's just as bad!). On behalf of my gender, I apologize for the noisy ones.

To those of you making "Ewww!" noises, let's look at this from a logical standpoint: If you really are well and truly gay, what the bloody hell does it matter what genitalia anyone has if your relations with them are going to be purely platonic? If you're bisexual and somehow taking potshots at the female members or male members, gender irrelevant, you have a slight hypocrisy problem going on: You aren't bisexual, you're either misogynistic or misanthropic, and in serious denial. Unless you're intending to bed someone, their genitalia do not bloody well matter. Do not let it be a point of childish divisiveness in what's otherwise intended to be peaceable, open and friendly platonic relations.

Chill out, and realize that you are not in the fifth grade; You do not have to point at a passing girl and shriek about cooties anymore, to avoid being ostracized by your peers. Bitching about the opposite sex does not earn you Cool Points, redeemable for mad ravishing. It just gets you glared at. Stoppit.

If you have a problem with someone, it had better be something derivative of their personality! or actions!  To be ignorant, or rude, regarding a part of the body someone has, whether it dangles or not, is completely counter productive and foolish.
