Minecraft Server? - SMP vs. Tekkit vs. Classic

SMP is best.

Tekkit is awesome.  Really awesome, but the Energy Collector, Klein Stars, and EMC ruin the game late game.  Why bother 'mining' in minecraft if you can literally magically manifest anything you will ever need ever again.  It invalidates everything that comes before it.

If Tekkit didn't have those, it would be better than SMP because building up technology slowly over time is awesome, including trying to manage energy sources.

I would be quite keen if we could add grief prevention to Tekkit if possible; I trust people for the most part, however greed can get the best of yeh!  :-3

Last time I tried, the plugin stopped the server from loading/crashed it.  Tekkit is based off of 1.2.5, however, and I've apparently successfully loaded GriefPrevention 5.5.1 on the Tekkit instance (last one listed for 1.2.5), and upgraded the SMP 1.3.2 instance to GriefPrevention 6.2.

There are probably differences in how they work, but you guys can try that and let me know if there's issues. :)

lwc is a pretty good chest/door protection, dunno if it would work with tekkit though. Also I wouldn't mind being added to both servers, would be a good chance to learn tekkit, im just 'azlan'

I've added LWC and restarted the Tekkit server - it didn't crash, zomg. ;o  Suggest all Tekkit players familiarize yourself with the commands at http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/lwc/ - this one appears to actually have been architected with Tekkit support in mind, so hopefully it will 'just work'. :p

Also added Azlan to both servers.
