CBC asks: Tail fashion trend?

Also, how many of you remember the article that was put out years ago online, that talked about having tails grafted on to yourself? I think it was shot down pretty quickly by the medical community because of concerns over liability and some other 'things'.

I really hope this idea doesn't become mainstream. It would be way to weird to see large masses of people wearing tails.... that aren't furries.

I have a couple (non-furry) friends who bought kigus while we were in Japan. And if the growing popularity of the spirit hoods (https://spirithoods.com/) and the many various copycats are any sign, there's the slight possibility that these may gain some popularity among the general public as well.

All in all, it's at least a good sign that the furry community is becoming more generally accepted. =)

Occasionally here and there on the Canada Line I've spotted someone wearing a little tail on the side or back, and you can't help but assume that they're furs. With this becoming a trend, it's anybody's game now eh?

Sadly some people are against the furry community I know a guy that dispite wearing a animal hat is against the furry community and not to stereotype, but it seems that the asian culture it growing to accept animal accessories into everyday fashion that aren't necessarily furry.

I kind of hope it does become mainstream. I think it would really help with the whole fursuit thing, which seems to be a large part of the hate people have for furries. Plus, I would finally be able to wear a tail in public without standing out like a fishing pole on a gun rack. xD

The poll on that sight did indicate that a majority of people would never wear them, so I wouldn't call it a trend yet, its more of a social experiment. but still cool none the less ^^

I'm trying not to take this into stock, what with Shambhala happening in Salmo soon, but today at work a bunch of people came in for lunch in furry body suits, hats tails, you name it! They are not furries (FACT!)... and it was hard to keep my mouth shut. I almost felt like I was being mocked by a bunch of ignorant (expletive)s.
*Sigh* I know they know nothing about it...
That's not the point.

I would not take it to heart so much, just like you said, its just "fashion" the mere uttering of that word is like ending a serious debate/ speech with "just kidding everyone!" just kinda invalidates the point of any frustrations because you have already established that the people into it are only into it cause its whats currently in, and next season they might just be wearing toiler paper rolls on their heads or going all Star-Wars by walking around with mini belt clip light-sabres dawning large hoodies in black, brown and beige. Spencers Gifts currently sells a LOT of cutesy animal things as others have mentioned in the past, I think its just another wave of the Psuedo-individualist-hipster-nerd-look-at-me-I-am-being-so-unique crowd.

In other words, the worlds biggest flakes and most plastic people. They never stay attached to a trend and I highly doubt furry is that popular of a thing that its gonna stick, IMO its just the "cutsey" animal thing, its not that furry in nature. Much like the people who go "look how new-age I am, I went and got a set of terot cards and a crystal ball :D" are not really even that spiritual in nature.

Aye, you should've checked out the student union building in UBC from time to time during the school year. They sell furry hats to furry leggings. It's been a fad for quite a while.  8)

We most certainly do not live in a tail friendly world. Getting a tail grafted onto you would just be a never ending series of getting it caught in doors and people eventually yanking it out of your body.

You learn pretty quickly how to keep your tail from getting caught. It has been said the human body can adapt pretty quickly to changes. You would probably create yourself some habits to help protect it. Years ago, I borrowed a tail for the weekend, wore it non-stop. The feeling of having it never really went away.
