No car love?

I'm noticing that almost no one plays games like Forza, or even GTA. Am I one of the few who enjoy getting their "Drive" on, getting behind the digital wheel and going for a spin?.
Maybe it's just me, as I do love cars, and games like Forza allow me to paint my own car, make it my own, and race it, That game has given me some info on how cars work, not the best, but still some understanding.
GTA is better in larger groups, like when you can get an 8-car demo derby going, especially when it's done with minivans, nothing like watching a bunch of "soccer mom"-mobiles going at it. Another one is a bunch of exotics trying to take each other out, just the thought of the multimillion dollar mayhem, would make some cringe

Well, I do know some furs that might object to that.

I used to play car games a lot, but I don't really now, mainly for the fact that I don't feel like investing or buying games at the moment. Nevertheless, I do like watching car gameplays on Youtube, ranging from arcade fun (Ridge Racer and Burnout) to simulation (NFS Shift and FM4).

I don't like muscle cars myself, as I opt for European Exotics. My favourite still has to be the Audi R8, followed by the Lotus Exige.  :D

Yeah, Audi really got it right with the R8.

I was talking about the fact it seems like everyone only plays shooting games. Rarely, if at all, do I see anything else. I thought I'd see a little more diversity when it came to games on here.

Get a muscle car. Slap a couple 50. Cals on the hood. Mines that drop from the back bumper and I'm in. Either that or Green Shells and Star Power. ^.^

I really like car games - I just feel like many of the best ones don't come out for the PC, and I don't have a modern console. Multiplayer GTA's definitely a hoot, I just wish the server-finding and stuff didn't feel like such an afterthought.

Speaking of GTA and Rockstar, I wonder if anyone liked the Midnight Club series?

I've got midnight club LA, and the only issue I have is, it can feel kinda small. but i did like painting in there.

I play lots of racing games, but only the hardcore PC sims.

I'm all for racing games. More about the simulation myself. I'm a little behind the times though, NFS 3, Forza 2... Was given one of the new EA NFS PC games, but turns out my computer is no where good enough to even to run it.

There had a been a few older car based PC games that came out before the GTA type games, that I thought was fun playing. Interstate 76 for example. It had a kind of deathmatch for multiplayer. You even got to customize the load outs on the car for jumping in. Then there was rush 2049 for the Dreamcast back in the day which also had a fun 4 player death match thing. I like those kinds of games, and just racing. Not so much about the 'car pimping' though. But thats just me....

The Gameloft company has been a new one on my list in terms of producing the Asphalt series, as well as GT Motor Academy (for the Android system). Both of 'em are pretty good in terms of arcade racing games.

I do simraceway, raceroom, and the Race series including GT Evolution (driving a GT1 car with full force feedback is an INSANE workout!)

I would like to look into Rally Racing Games, but I guess having played rally modes in simulation games and being annoyed by how little control I have of the car on off road tracks...it had become a bit of a barrier to my interests.  :-\
