Tef;

Try Xpand Rally with a good racing wheel peripheral. It's for the PC, available on Steam for ten bucks, and I personally love it. Realistic handling (No gluey magicwheels here!), car damage will affect performance (Trash your gearbox? You might actually get stuck in one gear! Bend a wheel? Handling will suffer, and the car will crab), and it's fairly pretty, despite its age. Has some neat, cute little effects like dust or mud slowly accumulating based on how and where on the course you drive; stick to the road? Car stays clean. Go mudding? Car gets dirtier bit by bit.

@Selkit: I took a look at the game on Wikipedia. Techland...huh, the same guys behind Dead Island. I believe it would be worth checking it out myself. I guess I'll take a look at some gameplay vids on Youtube and think about it.

@ Trigger: The first has the best physics by FAR. Best graphics, too. As for rally sims, I stick with my original Xbox and Colin McRae 2005
