You need an app to just rename/move between a pair of JAR files? ;P  Though I wonder if writing a couple lines of shell script counts as 'app writing' these days.

JAR switching is a very dumbed-down feature of an otherwise lovely app that mix and matches packages and adds some nifty features on top of the usual launcher.

...Oh, and a speedhack, flyhack, X-ray, destruction aura, and...

*grin*

Not that *those* features get used on your server! Just add-ons part of the admin client for another server I play on. JAR juggling is a happy side benefit :3

So, I re-downloaded everything, got the latest (at least, latest for Minecraft 1.2.5 that Tekkit uses) versions of the plugins, omitting one or two (LWC and DynMap) this time around, and.. *knock on wood*

So far, Tekkit appears to be stable with the old world map.  At least, more stable than it was (still not as nice as stock SMP, but hey).  I believe world anchors are still disabled/removed from the attempt at fixing it last time, but I'm going to open it back up again for everyone.  Please be gentle with it - tone down the teleporting pipes and crazy complicated always-running stuff if possible until we're sure it's 'okay'. :p

Who has a cobblestone tower house located at -778, 1144 with no claim? I plan at some point to build a railroad to spawn (And have begun doing so); Do you want to be linked into that system? You'd be the first potential destination as the closest house to my own claim.

Oh that would be me, confused why the chest I placed beforehand didn't lay claim. Should be fixed now and by all means place a rail road on through.

Selkit

If it was your second chest, Dallas, it won't lay claim. ;)

Selkit

Sometime tonight, Dallas, said railway will begin creeping your way. :3

Uhmmmn question: how do we get onto the tekkit server?? x'3 do we update and use latest build? or update and use reccomended build? or not update and use latest build??? X3 I'm having trouble logging into the server, I keep running into "missing mod" issues >.<

I believe, unless they updated it last night, you need the Latest Recommended build; it should be whatever it picks by default - the only thing you may want to change in the options is how much RAM gets allocated depending on how much you have in your computer.

Should be Tekkit 1.3.2.  You are using the 'Tekkit' modpack and not Technic or something else in the dropdown in the top left of the launcher, right?  By the way, one of the mods (Matmos) will complain in chat about being out of date *after* you're logged in, but since we're using a pack you can ignore it.

Other note to remember-they're on different ports. kithop.ca by itself is regular Minecraft 1.3.2, while kithop.ca:25567 is Tekkit.

Alright - Saturday night/Sunday morning, a few of us were messing around on the Tekkit server for over 4 hours, clearing out a basement with advanced tools, and eventually deciding to build an automated solar panel factory. :)

For the first time, I've managed to do some screencapture recording, audio included (I knew Pro Tools would be good for something).  Without further ado, for your viewing pleasure:

I'm working on exporting the others - while I have Pro Tools and a sweet condenser mic for the audio, and QuickTime captures at native res (1680x1020 in this case; cropped out the menu bar), iMovie still sucks major ass and won't export higher than like 960x500 or something stupid like that. :(  If anyone with better video editing software is interested in this stuff and would like to give me a hand chopping up the video, maybe even doing intros and outros or what have you, feel free to let me know.  I'm a big Yogscast fan, and despite the headaches getting it working, this is kind of fun. ^.^

Enjoy!

Any chance we can get a list of the banned items on the tekkit server.
