Movers cost $200 more than expected. Ouch!

Always get a quote and written contract. Consider yourself lucky they didn't hold your stuff hostage for even
more money.

Ouch...how big is it? The largest I ever had was 3.5mm in diameter behind my lower lip.

I found out today that I'm not going to get my vacation time in September, which I had booked off to go to the states with my mother for our joint birthdays, because the other cook is a complete twat. She's changed her vacation time 4 times since the request sheet was posted, and changed it again the day of the deadline, booking off the time I've had posted for over a month. She has two months seniority, so she gets it.

When I called her about it on Monday, she said she'd be willing to change it so that I could get my vacation. When my boss talked to her today, she said she's changed her mind; she will not change it.

I'm done playing nice.

Upgraded to Thunderbird 11 today.

Then I found out there are absolutely NO good themes for 11.
(I liked Whitehart for v3, but it's not available for anything higher)

Plus, as a bit of a developer myself, there is nothing about the Mozilla Foundation's decision to "fast track" the version numbers for Firefox and Thunderbird.

More and more it seems that my employers want me to comply with their rules (not unreasonable) but are blatently unwilling to comply with the rules set out for them by BC's Employment Standards Act.

When I get a job, I expect to be required to follow some basic guidelines for behaviour, performance, appearance and the like. However I also expect that my employer will follow the guidelines set out for them by what are, effectively, their higher-ups. So it always frustrates me a little when I point out to employers that they are breaking the rules.

I was written up at work yesterday for not wearing the right pants, pants I am required to wear, pants my employer expected me to buy. I have told my boss on numerous occasions that a) I can barely afford basic necessities on what I make, and b) section 25 of the Employment Act requires that my employer pay for the pants. Until yesterday, and me showing them the appropriate sections, they didn't listen. My boss seemed both surprised, and frustrated that I knew my rights, and was holding him to account for attempting to violate them.

This is a problem I've encountered throughout the foodservice industry, but I don't know how much the problem exists in other industries, if at all.

If you work any sort of service job that can't even pay you a decent wage then its a guarantee they will almost never supply any attire needed for the job. When I was in my later teens I worked a few bakery jobs and not one ever supplied the attired they demanded you have. But lucky for me my parrents were nice and went and got some second hand stuff that was passable, I really didn't give 2 shits haha. When I worked at wal-mart thats when it was real fun, even stricter dress code and they are fucking nazis when it comes to shoes. I had to go out and get a $100 pair of shoes for a job that wasn't worth the sweat on my balls.

Its no surprise your boss reacted like they did... you would be surprised how far people are willing to cut corners and skew things to save a buck.

I know this is now an old issue, but academic tuition hikes again? Fuck this shit, even though I still have to pay for at least a year more.

I wasn't really surprised, just frustrated.

Bastard fly keeps on flying around in my room - I have been trying to kill it all afternoon. Costed me a somewhat dented thumb from smashing a book on the fly, missing, and causing my thumb to be smashed up against the edge of a table. >_>

I think some people don't like it cause they were expecting it to pretty much be Diablo 2 but with WoW graphics and a slightly different story. So far I actually enjoy it ^.=.^ played through a few classes already.
