archery and drunk people.   not what i want to be around., but i suppose it is (not much) better than a gun

Eh, drinking comes after archery.  If you drink and attempt to shoot a bow, you'll get kicked out. I personally have never shot a gun, but a few friends of mine used to shoot at a gun range, and from what they tell me, archery is much more difficult to do.

Safety first, that's right. As far as archery being more difficult, that's definitely true when we're talking long arms, as shooting a rifle is really easy. Handguns are a different story. Shooting a pistol or revolver accurately requires a lot of practice, just like archery.

Some people are just creeped out by things and personalities they don't understand.

Finally made the trip across the big pond, yay! The first impression of PG is pretty good. So many super friendly people around here... makes Germans and Norwegians seem like grumpy misanthropes in comparison.

Sure, that's always the same thing everywhere. And of course I'll stay away from "da hood".

Definitely a wise decision to avoid the hood...also, welcome to prince George!  You'll get used to the smell.

So far I have no idea what smell people are talking about. Is that only at certain times of the year? Haven't really noticed anything weird yet.

There is several pulp mills here, and every once in a while they release a rotten egg smell.   Its not all the time, but it can be pretty bad. Most of the time it depends on the area you are in...for example by the jail (on the edge of town, heading east) is almost always stinky, as there is like 3 or 4 mills nearby, but college heights (west side of pg) has nothing and never stinks. You'll smell it eventually lol

Alrighty, something to look forward to then, I guess...

By the way, if you wouldn't mind playing tour guide for us ignorant, easily confused Europeans, let me know.  ;)   Would be nice to come into contact with people around here. And as I see you're interested in archery and medieval reenactment there may be potential for like-mindedness.  :)
