Don't worry!  If you're rude, we will just apologize to you...then we will say "eh" and drink some maple syrup with our pet beavers, while riding our dog sleds past moose!  :p

kittiboi lies. we don't drink maple syrup, we sip it.   the only ones that have pet beavers are straight boys or lesbians.  and dog sleds are used for old style racing.  most use snowmobiles now - they go faster so the moose can't catch us.

I thought when Canadians riot they just hold up signs saying "I am mildly displeased". Or if they are really angry they might spray "F-Word" on a wall.

Heh. Not on a hockey riot!!  Seriously, look up the Vancouver riot after the Canucks lost the Stanley cup a few years back...lots of violence there

Yes, I've seen that. Crazy stuff... Sports fans all over the world can get into an insane violent frenzy over the score of some game. Competitive sports and war share many common features, so I guess it's not necessarily surprising.

we might be a polite nation but we can put out like the rest of them.  reference the hockey riot. and when we get angry we are not so polite.

I know it's just the general stereotype, not everyone is like that, and definitely not all the time. It's a nice, positive one though, much better than the USA stereotype of the dumb racist redneck...

Hey, I'm not part of the anti-happiness special forces, so no problem. Although I've encountered plenty of grumpy Germans in my life I try not to be like that. There is even a specific German word for that, which I don't think exists in any other language: "Spassbremse" (literally "fun brake").  :)
