Hello, World!

Miles the meerkat here. I've recently moved here to B.C. less than a month ago, coming all the way from Florida in the United States. I'm living in Victoria currently and I will be for about a year. As a United States citizen, I'm going through the process of getting permanent residency here, but who knows how long this will take...

A bit about myself; I'm 23 years old, graduated with a degree in Computer Science. Currently still looking for work as a Software Developer, although I may have a job within the next few days if I'm lucky. I'm a casual gamer in my spare time, and currently I'm mostly playing WoW. I used to play Hearthstone, but haven't touched it since Naxx. I've been getting back into playing Super Smash Bros. Melee and I'm starting to go to local tournaments, and I'm really looking forward to the new game being released this Friday. I'll share my FC when I get it. EDIT: Obtained! My FC is 1048 - 9826 - 7907. Other than that, I really enjoy cooking, reading, and of course programming as its my profession. I don't watch very much TV or movies, but I get very passionate about shows and films that are truly good (which is few). I'm a chocoholic. Everything is better with chocolate. I also like hugs.  :gay:

In any case, I'm looking to get to know new people as I settle in to my new life here. Preferably local, but I'm sure I'll visit the Vancouver area as well from time to time. Feel free to send me a message if you'd like to get to know me better!

Hey there miles! I'm new to the site, but not new to Victoria! I'm a gamer like yourself and I enjoy movies, too O: We'll have to get a bunch of furs together for terrible movie night :DD Where did you go to school for computer science? I'm heading out to become a technical engineer M'self! We should compare notes.

If you wanna chill and get a coffee sometime that'd be super awesome! I could show you the sights of Victoria, maybe find a local restaurant and grab a nibble, too. Victoria has a really nice local scene!

are you gonna get SMB3ds? :3

Rwaulie

Yay, Victoria is sure becoming a Furry magnet!!  I'd love to hang out with new folks
***Tail high, my fluffy friends.  We are all Pack and all in this together***

I'd rather nooooot watch terrible movies haha. I went to school in Florida for my degree. But yeah, if you ever want some help with something programming related, I'm always glad to lend a hand.

If you mean the new super smash bros, yes I am getting it!

I'm a bit busy but we can probably hang out downtown sometime if you like.

Nice to meet you Seii.

Hey Miles, I'm actually fresh from down south too! I moved up here about a month and a half ago from Texas :3 I hope you're enjoying it up here as much as I am, the weather and the scenery is so much more interesting. There are meets on the island fairly often, I totally recommend coming to hang out, the group out here is just wonderful, and growing so fast, and there's tons of opportunities to hang out with a few people at a time due to how close together the city is and how good its transit is. I look forward to seeyin' y'around c:

I am but a blade in the crowd.

I have seen what comes of those who raise themselves above others.

Nice to meet you, Trove! I'll definitely be going to some meetups some time fairly soon. Hope to see you there!

It definitely is really nice here. I can't help but say it's much nicer than where I'm from.

What brings you up here in this wonderful country?

Just first year student at UVic, planning on going into Engineering once my prerequisites come through. I'm actually a dual citizen - which made everything way easier, I hope you aren't having too hard a time with that bureaucracy stuff. This Halloween looks like the next really active time for meets and events, it would be a great time to make (spooky!) introductions. :9

I can't tell you how much I envy you. The process of getting here without citizenship is very difficult. It's not impossible, but it takes hella work, and I might be forced to leave after a year. :/

Cool! Good luck with Engineering. Somewhat similar field to what I studied. UVic seems like a great school, too, so you're in a good place. :)

Eheheheh.... I'm not much for frights, but it'd be cool to meet new people ^^

Welcome! Don't get to worried about citizenship. it's relatively easy for Americans to get it.
I hate being human, I hate being alone, but I scare off or pushy away anyone who cares or understands.

Hey welcome to Vancouver island! I recently moved back over to my home town of port Alberni (port al shithole) from Gabriola island! (Right near nanaimo) hope you enjoy your stay here and if yer lucky that citizenship process will go a lot faster if you get a job and then work visa

Miles

Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone. I hope the citizenship process comes fairly quickly. I seem to have a job lined up now, so that's good news! I'll be applying right away. I just hope it can be processed within a year so that I don't have to leave, or if not that I can get an extended visa.
