As we are preparing for another great camping event for the year most of us are looking forward to different activities to perform. Sure, sitting around the campfire, share stories and enjoy great company is just the beginning. Last year though smaller group dispersed and went onto different excursions be it to an abandoned quarry, view the Othello Tunnels or simply do sightseeing in Hope.

Yet there are also great activities you can perform at the camping site whether it is a group game or a sports activity with different teams.

You can brainstorm on activities, whether you want to make a trip a few kilometers up the highway or have a great idea for a game. You can also bring initiative and lead an activity.

Possible Suggestions:

Capture the flag.  (Possibly with nerf guns if everyone is ok with losing most of their ammo in the woods ><) a classic.

See who has a real set of stones with...Inukshuk Engineering Challenge

See who can build the most impressive stone statue out of river rocks!

Spin the squirrel.   Get a wild squirrel and spin it in a circle - whoever it bites, gets a free ambulance ride and tetanus shot!
"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time."   - Terry Pratchett

Ooh, definitely down to go see the Othello tunnels, they're so cool.

xanitos

if you plan to check out the Othello tunnels make sure to dress warmly!!!! dat shit be cold as fug

Duffy

I will most likely be fursuiting through the tunnels again (weather permitting)  That was a lot of fun, and no worries about staying warm X3

xanitos

Lol that sounds epic, but sounds like it could get dirty!!

Wereman

The Othelllo Tunnels are a grea experience and Duffy knew well how to fursuit through the tunnels.

You have some good ideas Irish Lion, get the flag yet getting enough nerf guns may be a challlenge.

Build rock structure either by the river or by the campsite sounds fun.

Using a squirell might be a tad dangerous, let's use a bottle instead.

the nerf guns were a semi-joke - unless some rich fur with a bajillion nerf darts shows up.....

although, if someone has LASER/LAZER-tag equipment....... that could be a blast....  (any volunteers on that front?)

The inukshuk thing could be a fun 'after dinner' campfire game while having a few drinks by the river.   build a few handy piles before hand, choose teams, etc.

The squirrel is mandatory. there is no avoiding the squirrel.

The inukshuk would be a better experience 1-2 hours before dinner. Before it gets dark and we are having a beer.

After dinner we would need a game right be the campsite. Truth or dare is one suggestion.

xanitos

wereman..... truth or dare? do you know how many people we would have being dared to strip naked and jump in the river?

rainwolf

Sounss crazy anf fun, i might go.

Well, it's up to our judgment whether we are letting it happen. As long as non looses hir/her dignity. Yet it is an entertaining game.

I have 10 assault-rifle style laser tag guns, up to 5 people on 2 teams, or free-for-all.

That could be a possibility, make sure your equipment is strong/weather resistant and if battery operated you have enough power in the guns to hold a series of games.
