There was a 7.7 earthquake off the coast of the island a few months or so ago. Almost caused a tsunami.

Silvermink

But here's my number, so call me maybe?

You wont feel it unless it's like a 9 or 10 I think because it's so deep under the ocean. Japan feels it because the water is shallower than our coast.

If we ever had a 9 or 10 my old building would fall. Im glad im moving.

I'm checking the US Geological Survey's earthquake feeds and don't see anything at all in the Vancouver area over the past 7 days... http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ We had a 6.0 offshore in southern Alaska on the 31st, but Vancouver hasn't had any activity at all (over a 2.5) recently.

A 5.3 three miles from anywhere in Vancouver would have been all over the news.
