got a 2 meter radio recently, and got it all setup and ready for use, but have yet to hear any activity

If you got a handy transmitter that will read in AM and FM I'll be happy to buy it.

i've only got CB and 2 meter (144.00 - 147.990 mHz) and recently got my Azden PCS-2000 setup at my desk

also discovered why i haven't received any signals yet, lol, the house i live in has stucco on the exterior, and the mesh is acting as a partial Faraday cage

You seem like a smart individual. Partly because you seem to have projects on the go... That And I have no idea what you are talking about at times :highfive:

i'm always learning and developing, i have a number of projects on the go, one of which is working to try and use some 2 meter radios to make a packet radio network

I'm curious, why would YOU want a packet radio network anyways?
[I think I can see the answer already but i want to see what you say]

I knew you'd say that  ;), There are strangers who use this too correct? [And you would like to know what they say?] And this isn't a am fm thing is it? If it is, Pirate radio  :o! I would so make a local pirate radio channel and put locals tracks on it and other awesome songs for fun if i could. But i could see vans driving around my house and then someone kicking in my front door xD Rv... now that's the way to do a pirate radio station if you were to ever make one, not saying that this is one, maybe it is? I dunno seems like communication to me from what i'm reading.

it's on the 2 meter band, 144.00-148.00 mHz, it's between CB and HAM, and for packet radio you want to know the people, and if you can setup some sort of OTR encryption between computers you have a completely secure signal, and hard to find, lol

Oooh ok. So what you're saying is it's great to make a meth lab in an RV, drive out to a desert and cook, and communicate with others, for example your scumbag lawyer, using this right. RIGHT?!

once i get my drivers license and get myself an RV i wanna head down to burning man, and at least 1 person i know who will have the same setup may be there, so we can telecomm with it, and it can be used to remote control robots (which i also plan to build some day) with extreme range

I used to be really into amateur radio operation. It's been a quite a while though since i fired up the old transceiver. It might even still be in the attic.
