commox lake adventure was fun.

but then, a funny thing happened on the way to ladysmith last night, flat tire, and me without a useful spare, so early this morning i walked many many blocks to check out the closest tire shop from my location in nanaimo (15 blocks, give or take), and talk to the very helpful person there, they said they may figure something out, so i then walked back to my van (yaay, another 15 blocks), got the tire, loops a long string thru it three times, tied the ends together, then grabbed a towel, folded it into a smaller square, put it thru the one end of the looping, and basically ended up rolling the tire towards the shop (sure beats carrying).

half way there i got the attention of a couple in a pick-up truck, which asked for a photo of me and the tire (hopefully they email me a copy), then were kind enough to drive me the rest of the way to the tire shop, the repair guy said the tire was shot, and suggested a 99.00 tire, i mentioned i had 40.00-ish, he then found something close enough to function for just under 45.00, inc. swapping the tire and balance "yaay", great people at that tire shop on the top of the hill.

then when heading back i looped the string again, and just as i was half a block away from the shop, a lady in a big pick-up asked where i was going, i told her, and she offered me a lift, smoothly life was going :) , she drops me off, i thank her, i put on tire, now i iz mobile again.

now back to reg. schedule of heading off to mill bay for the junk in trunk sale tomorrow.

uhm, need to catch up a bit.

the trunk sale was okay sales-wise, but the best thing of the day, was that the whole show was on grass ... yup, a big, thick and luscious grassy field, it was heaven all day, walking on the grass.

then went and visited drake and morrogh for the evening (thanks for putting up with me), afterwards i headed back to nanaimo, made more stuff, then went up to parksville for a tuesday night market, then qualicum beach for a art/craft market, both shows were slow, parksville was much more fun though, before the show, i found this very cool bead shop, and traded for a bunch of very useful supplies, qualicum on the other hand was very very conservative, the town was pretty much dead silent by 9:30-10p.m., and when i found a place to park, there were these two ladies in a red minivan, that drove by the three rv-campers parked, and wrote down all our license plates as the passed by, i guess they wanted to be sure there were no unwanted riff raff in their small town, it was like traveling to the fifties in the u.s., what a trippy thing, but i did see a deer, a hare and a rabbit in the downtown core.

i am writing this has i travel on the ferry to the mainland.

to catch up on things, after leaving qualicum beach saturday morning, i go to parksville again, and visit the bead shop to get a few more items, very nice place, then on the way back to nanaimo i hit a few garage sales, but not find much, while in nanaimo i go to a antique shop, and buy a few old wind up watches, and saturday night i drive to a flea mkt., then sunday morning, i set up at the market, i do not sell much, but did buy a couple of old clocks, and a couple of useful bits and pieces.

on monday i booked to do parksville again, but when driving a bit, i felt my tires not doing right, it turns out they might be trying to go separate ways down the road, which may have been the contributing cause of my flat tire in the first place, so i ended up canceling the trip to parksville, i was looking forward to setting up there, and to get a few more things at the bead shop there as well, but "oh well", so on the ferry i am, heading to vancouver a day ealrier, maybe i`ll make it to sushi, small chance at this time, but "hey, maybe".

so ends another island adventure .... for now :)

yup, it on again, my isl. adventures continue.

last weekend i was vending and having fun at gottacon the gaming convention at the pearkes rec. center in victoria.

i plan on being at the victoria flea mkt. the next two sundays, then up at u-vic. from feb 22-24 for tsukino-con, the very fun anime convention.

in the meantime, if anyone wants to hang out, or if there are things going on that might be fun for me to join in on, do let me know.

was very good in the sales dept. at the victoria flea mkt last sunday at the davinci center, will be there again this sunday (feb 17).

and hanging out with you victoria furs last friday was great, looking forward to meeting up again this friday :)

went to a steampunk tea meet-up today, and did a little junk trading, i ended up with a volks doll, have`nt decided yet to keep it (very tempted though).

now i need to focus on making new necklaces and stuff for tsukino-con, which is coming up sooner than i`m prepared for, but that`s the norm.

for those following this, current update:

currently contemplating going to a collectables auction tonight at killshaws, and hopefully will get around to making more stuff for upcoming tsukino-con, then a lan gaming night friday at kyroo`s place, saturday is my getting van packed day for flea mkt., then sunday, selling at the victoria fle mkt. at the davinci center (victoria), then heading off to my sister`s place for sunday dinner, after that...plans up in air.

i went to the auction and stupidly bought a few things i should not have, then on friday, i went and visited and played lan worms armageddon, it was super great, alot of fun, thanks for hosting kyroo, and you others that i uh... killed :), and well, killed me as well.

then on saturday i visited a friend that makes electronic instruments from speak-n-spells and other toys of yesteryear, they are very cool, then went to sister`s place (yes, i have one that lives in victoria), and sorted a bunch of stuff in getting ready for tsukino-con, then packed the van for flea mkt.

and the flea mkt. was good, i sold off the few stupid things i should not have bought at the auction last thursday, at least i broke even on them, and sold a few other items, i also bought a few things for future creations (always a good thing), i tried, but could not get my rabbit friend to show up, even offered him a big carrot, but to no avail alas.

getting ready to get a big bunch of my acrylic series of earrings and necklaces prepared for this tsukino-con, and hoping to make a few more steampunk items also done up.

stoked for my panel at tsukino-con on the friday night starting at 9:30, do stop by to check it out, i just may be handing out a free item or two

now i just need to figure out whats up on my vehicle front end, i think it may need to get complete redone, and ... gulp... i have no idea how much that may be in the costing dept., currently it makes random squeaking noises, and the random thumpa thumpa vibrations really been giving me the geevies... causing me to not drive as much as i would like and need to.
