In case any of you forgot, or just haven't heard, Minecraft is now for sale on Xbox Live, it cost 1600 points. comes with 400 Gamerscore worth of Acheivements

It seems to be around the late beta/early release version of the PC build, no mods (obviously, being a console port). and somewhat larger pixel texture (most likely to adapt for SDTV users)

Just letting my fellow Xbox 360/Minecraft gamers know it's now available if they were interested in any way. You may now resume your regular browsing, Thank you.

The Xbox version of Minecraft is a year behind in the PC version. But I have no idea how fast they will catch up. As for playing with PC players, that is not possible. So for those who wanted to know, no you cannot play with your friends who play on PC. I play the PC version, and have since INFDEV. I want to try the Xbox version however, just to see how well it's done. And maps are only 1000 by 1000 blocks on the Xbox version. So you will have a small generated map. But that shouldn't be a problem for those who don't do extravagant things. As for maps on the PC version, it is theoretically 8 times larger than the earth's surface if you count 1 block as 1 meter. Also there is no creative mode on the Xbox version yet. Only survival.

the 360 version might not be great, but it's still better than the pocket edition, where it takes you 5-10 minutes to get from end to end, indirectly, and the pocket edition also has a very select amount of blocks, but both are good when can't get your minecraft fix on the computer.

The main thing that would make me interested in the Xbox version is splitscreen multiplayer, which it supports.

However, as I read recently, the splitscreen will only work if the game's running on an HDTV... something to keep in mind. d:

Damn I was hoping it would be crossplatform with the PC version. So I could connect to my server from the 360.
Never know what the future could bring though :)

No it's not, because the programming is completely different and difficult. I was rather upset about that, but new updates will come to the xbox version, including things that won't be in the PC version.

Well if they ever drop java on the PC version for c++ or w/e the xbox version is in it would be possible. I have been hoping they would do that for a very long time but sadly idk if it will ever really happen.
I can't stand games in java.

Well, if anyone does pick it up, and want some extra bodies in their game, let me know. It was half the reason I posted this
