OK so i don't like to think this way, and i know it all sounds lame, but I'm stubborn but I am. I'm dealing with someone who has taken the look of my own personal character who i take pride in the fact that i thought of the design myself. I asked the girl if she based her character off mine, i was being nice about. she told me it was just a coincidence and she based it off her friends dog, and she has never seen me or any of the art i have posted. i did ask for this photo of this dog shes talking about and if it does look like the character i will apologize for all this and take back my statements. but she refused to show me an image.

I will note as well that she has changed the a few things about her character to not look like mine but its not close enough.

I cant believe this at all Ive seen no dog that looks like my character, believe me I've try to find one. the dates Ive posted of my art are much  So i called her out and called her a liar and asked to see a picture of this dog shes talking about.

Here are the links to her character, and then my own

These are not safe for work it does contain sexual acts of what looks like a young character. you will need an InkBunny account to view these images

This all does seem like a jerk move but i don't care right now, and i wont stop till she ether changes here character to look more less like mine, or takes down the images shes posted, or goes to all the images and stats that the characters design was based off mine and continues this with every image that is posted of this character. i can not stand character theft

The only advice I can give is to just let it go. There's really nothing you can do about it, unfortunately, and getting mad over it will just make things worse. =\
I've said and done things I regret here, so I just don't do anything instead.

Hadlock

so someone made a spotted  husky, its no big deal XD

I think it is just a coincidence. I mean, my character is grey/white/black with sock markings... I know I am not the only one out there with a character like that.

Anyway, I have seen plenty out there that are brown and white, and many that have speckling.

I can understand being annoyed that someone has a very similar look to you, I know its more about the possible aspect of character/ art theft though.

With dragons this can actually be very problematic, despite being very very blank slates to do what ever you want with, there are very common designs that pop up a LOT... like Red dragons with Yellow bellies. (Okay, not exactly like me, but hey I am pretty close to that myself) But many of us end up with very similar traits and design due to people simply seeing one dragons character as very cool looking, so they copy the features.

At last year Howl's bowling, a dude from Seattle came up here with a suit almost identical to mine. #7+billionpeople #itsgoingtohappen #nobigdeal

That's some, uh... creepy reference material. Otherwise, it looks like someone just happened to pick the same species of dog that you did. There are SHITTONS of dog furries, it was bound to happen. :P

I'm sorry, both of your characters may look somewhat similar, but that doesn't mean she necessarily tried to steal it, like everybody said, there's millions of people out there, you're bound to run into a few people here and there that have characters similar to your own. Now in the case that she did in-fact actually steal your character and just change a few things, then there isn't anything you can do.. and as to your last few requests there, I think it's completely unnecessary and like Zythren said, you're honestly better off letting it go.

Based on what I skimmed through there I suspect this is convergent evolution more then character theft, unless you specifically know of a place where she would have been exposed to your character ( not FA unless specific interests overlap ) there's little reason to believe this is theft so much as someone else choosing a similar looking character for their own aesthetic reasons. Differences like the ears and eye-color do matter as eyes certainly are common distinguishing factors between more common breeds and species in the fandom as the average rendering of a character in art isn't able to evoke some of the more discreet characteristics that one might find in real animals. Taking myself as an example beyond sheer size and eye color there's not a lot to distinguish my quad tiger from another quad tiger, stripe and facial patterns change depending on the artist, sometimes my ears have the correct ear-spots other times the artist isn't aware of these details. Just take it as further approval of your particular arrangement of spots and canine features and move on, I don't think she stole anything in particular and I don't think she should or will take the art down.
