I know how you feel hon. Rats can learn any trick a dog can and more. Because they can carry things with their front hands and walk. My boys are very attached to me and go nuts when I play with them. My girls love each other more than me. And Rocket is FAST... she runs out of her cage the moment it's open to explore. She loooove exploring. They all come when you make kissy noises because they want treats. They are spoiled... And my animals always get fed before I do. But it's the combination of trying to find a place that would accept 5 rats. On top of that, I usually lie and say hamsters... People freak out over a rat. Cats and dogs carry more diseases than rats and mice COMBINED. And captive bred rats are disease free (most of the time lol depends on the breeders obviously).

If someone takes them before you have the money, then I will let you know.

Aww, Rocket sounds like a sweetie. Is she the hooded or full blue?

My girls love snuggling down together in their pipe when I'm away (I have a big, thick length of PVC pipe in their cage, which they've dragged faux fur and flannel scraps into), and when I come home and settle down to sew they poke their heads out and get all excited. I love letting my rats run around while I sew, they like to pick up my spools of thread and rearrange things or drag pieces of fur around. Super cute. Sometimes Diego just steals little fur scraps and hauls them into the cage.

I did the same with my landlord. She said as long as I have two cages, it's fine. (Didn't mention how many animals in each cage ... BUAHAHA) I just told her I have gerbils. Honestly, I think most people have an issue with the tails and are just trying to find an excuse - but their tails are so freaking adorable it's not even funny. Diego wraps hers around my face when she's balancing on my shoulder and leaning out to sniff something.

Yeah, finding a new place that accepts that many animals can't be easy D: Well, let me know if you have some free time and we'll hang out, I haven't seen you in forever! I don't have any more TheatreSports vouchers, but if I get some for Christmas, well, you're on my list of people to take ^^ That night with you and Foxx was awesome.

By the way, I have a friend who rescues birds. He has a lot of experience with troubled birds, actually, and is working with a female who's definitely special needs ... I could see if he has room, and if he's interested in adopting Haku. I know him well, he's a great guy, and I see him every week.

Rocket is the full blue. She's the second oldest in the batch of four. Baby Doll is the youngest. Baby is much more shy and skiddish. My boys love to sit on my shoulders and go for walks with me outside. They hold their tail around me when they are scared. And never go potty on me. When they aren't scared they flop on me and I have to hold them up because they just fall asleep.

I wouldn't mind talking to your friend about it if he is interested. But just let him know Haku is to go to one new home. Permanently.. I don't want to hear he has been given to someone else after a month. Haku will live to be 20-30 years old. He is a long commitment. I have had him for about 2-3 years now, since he was a baby. I hand fed him in the store I worked in too for a few days before he was fully weaned. I know his parents too. His mom is skiddish and his dad is a sex fiend lol...

Aww, my girl Ofie is pretty skittish too. She's not the biggest fan of people, but one you get to know her, she's so affectionate. She just ADORES Sevi, and goes nuts whenever he comes over, all psyched for cuddles.

Nothing is cuter than sleepy rats. Diego likes to sleep on her face sometimes.

Sure, I'll make sure that a permanent home is a must! I'd offer to take him myself, but honestly, I have no experience with birds, and I don't want to do anything that would harm him or make him dislike me or decrease his quality of life. My friend has cockatiels of his own and has all his life so he's used to the life expectancy and basic needs.

You wouldn't be interested in a service in lieu of adoption fee, would you? I don't know how much I can offer, but the more you tell me about your rats, the more I want to give those special girls a forever home <3 If not, I'm sure I can come up with the money somehow.

I'm living off of my credit card hon. I'm waiting on welfare right now. I have less than $700 on my credit card left. So money is kind of a need as well to serve for their fee. Otherwise I'd give them to you free of charge.  :-\

Ack! Yeah, know how that feels ;--; In that case I'll just have to get commissions like a boss.

In the meantime, if you ever need a meal, let me know. I don't have much, but what I do have, I'm willing to share :3 I'm sure I can help you out with some vegan food.

Lol. Thank hon. But right now my concern is feeding my animals. And being able to handle them mentally. Especially Haku. Since we moved he's gotten worse. I've had to cover the cage whenever he's in it to keep him from screaming non-stop. One time he screamed for 7 hours straight.

Ah, jeez, poor bird! DD: I'll talk to my friend tomorrow, see if he can give Haku a forever home.

Anything else I can do in the meantime?

Not so much as poor bird as poor cats. They went as far away as they could because he would not stop screaming. I tried everything. I didn't pick him up because that's rewarding him. I tried changing the food and water, or moving the toys. Even while I did that he screamed bloody murder. He just wanted to scream. It didn't matter if I was in sight, or gone, making noise or quiet. He just screamed. Birds scream for a reason, he had no reason.

O.o... erm...spread the word about the other aminals that need homes? Lol...

I'm in Abbotsford right now. I would have to get my mom to drive me to Surrey. Then from there I told Foxxy I might bug him to help deliver the Rats to you since he could get them to you easier than I can. I have a traveling cage for them but I need to keep it for my other rats. Sometimes for my birds too.

Hmmmm. I'd offer the use of my travel cage, but it's ridiculously small, and I want the girls to be comfy on their ride home, and not cramped as all buggity.

Yay Foxxy, how is he? I haven't seen him in FOREVER.

Mine is small too. It's a small mouse cage actually. But they are use to it when I take them outside. What you could do is bring yours along, and when you meet up with Foxxy, and put the rats in your cage, that way they don't travel so far and long in a cramped space. Would have to organize it maybe when I go visit him.

Foxxy is doing well. I see him every few weeks or so. I think the last time you saw him was with me.
