Hey guys! I'm super happy to see people getting in on the fitness thing. I took a fitness trainer's course (though I didn't manage to take the final test), and in light of that, I'd like to give a few pointers...though hopefully I don't end up being a killjoy! :birdy:
My first tip: Stretch. I've seen some VERY unfortunate happenings to people who don't stretch. Usually this is done after your strength workout, though any time during the day is fine, as long as you are physically warm. Cold muscles tend to get very upset when they are stretched, so...take a hot shower, curl up in bed for a bit, snuggle someone, or, as I said, workout first!
Next up: Don't overdo it! I don't know if I really have to say this one, but really, there are a few ways this can happen. For one, if you decide that you like pain and choose to exercise every damn day...well, try to take it easy, eh? The way you gain muscle is by lightly tearing the tissue, and as it is repaired (during the time you sleep or are generally not working out) it's generally repaired a little bigger, so the tearing doesn't happen anymore. This is why people can lift so much weight if they work out a lot. ANYways, you need the downtime in order to have your muscles build back.
Secondly, don't lift too much, or try to do what you can't. I've heard of people (unfortunately, mostly guys) who're like "I'm gonna pick up the 50lb weight and do arm curls with it!" and, what they end up doing, is resisting the weight of the 50lbs on the way down, but they can't lift it back up, so they ask a friend to help them. As I said, we gain muscle by tearing it slightly...This type of malpractice will end you with VERY torn muscles, which will heal lumpy and gross, and that's provided that (again, if you like pain) you don't tear the poor muscle apart. It has happened!

Hehe, sorry guys. I'm a bit of a freak.
I'd love to get in on this one, but I fear the difference wouldn't be very noticeable. I tend to stay the same weight no matter what I do, though I suppose I lose an inch or two sometimes, if I'm really into it.
However, you guys make me want to dance again. I haven't done it in about 6 months! :birdy:

That's all good advice.  I remember hearing I should stretch _after_ a workout but I was never sure why, so I've never done it.

And glad I helped inspire someone!

Thanks for the information Runemist, I'm sure someone will use this! I know I will :3

Keep it up losers! (Bah, just realized there was a show that said this or something)

From what I've read on fitness forums, eat (healthily) every few hours, and lift weights.  But it's just as hard (or harder) to gain weight if you've got that body type as it is for folks with my body type to keep weight down :)

I haven't taken any pictures, but I have lost 45 lbs in the past two years.  Right now, my weight LOSS is stagnating, because I haven't lost any weight for the past three months.  However, I have gained quite a bit of muscle so I am hoping that the remainder of the pudge will start getting metabolized soon.  When I stop jiggling, I will post some pictures!
