this is a very sensitive topic for me as i am VERY nationalistic for Canada. I have been told Americans considers us one in the same, we are not Canada just another extension of the States! I say not a fucking chance! Any one else agree that States has a little to much affect and control on are wonderful country? I have had long arguments with less nationalistic Canadians about what they would do and why other country's would do if the States invaded us. Personal I would fight that to the end but that's just me. I am not sure where i am going with the subject lol

All things considered, we are our own country as we have evolved to such by the establishment of our own confederation, and are no longer considered New England.

They started their country by declaring independance... something which Quebec has failed to do on many occasions.

I would just laugh at their hypocracy.  Besides, their whole country is based on hypocracy.  They claim freedom but gays have to fight for their rights, etc.

The US wishes they were as cool as us!
There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those that don't.

Our rednecks are classier and far more intelligent than theirs.

I should know being raised by two such rednecks.  ^-^

Believe it or not, as late as the 1920s, American and Canadian servicemen were tooling around each other's countries secretly strategizing contingency plans in case one nation decided to invade the other.  We should invade America first.  Let's capture Point Roberts, sue for peace, and then demand reparations.

As the joke goes, Canada's bigger and on top. If we were in prison, you know what the States would be. =P

Well, this reminded me of something I heard a while ago, but I don't know if it went anywhere or if it was just a rumour. But there was talk of having a North American currency, called the Amero (go figure...) that would be along the lines of the Euro. It would combine the Canadian dollar and the Mexican Peso with the American Greenback, so that there could be border-less transactions.

Kind of a dumb idea, especially the name. They should drop a "C" in front of it so it's "Camero". XD

Screw invading them, tax the electrical power, oil, and water we sell em, get a little revenge for the softwood lumber bullshit, make some money, and laugh at them...

Saying Canada is just more of the US is like saying Japan is just part of china, Ireland is english or that France is german... Its asinine and just goes to show the massive superiority complex that is the USA.

I'm so glad I don't live there anymore. They really are full of themselves.

HEY i just realized we dont have a heart emot we needs one!!

I find the American military lacking in soooo many ways i would rather kill myself that join them just to be killed by my own team. There training is nill if you live through it because the loose a few in training alone. they are acceptable losses considering they can just conscript more.

I would hate to say this but we cave waaayy too much to the US and its true that our cultures (or lack there of) are so similar that Im not terribly surprised that we could be mistaken for one in the same >.=.> and im throwing all the stereotypes out the window saying that. Im talking here and now what our cultures are like.

But personally I would find it pretty insulting to be called American as we are far more progressive with human rights (especially gay rights that should be universal by now) and we have quite a few things like health-care that we pretty much take for granted and the fact we are FAR LESS controlled by religion! Not that I despise America, I just don't like the attitude they seem to have.

Canada has it's good and bad points, as I'm sure does America. What disappoints me is how much we pretty much give them. We used to have the best air force in the world, but the US was all "We have all the resources! Give us your designs, and we can't start using these things against the axis in bulk!" and we were all "As long as it means freedom! :D". Canada's pretty much always been like that, though. It was the safe haven for black slaves (Well, safer, anyway), and the Vietnamese. We help people, regardless of their race, past, gender, ect. Saying more will sound bragy, so I'm gonna counter all this stuff with something not cool that we did. We DESTROYED the natives of this wonderful land! Well, I guess that was more the English... still, our ancestors and cousins did that! It's terrible :-[.

One thing that really bothers me: God is mentioned in our national anthem. I thought we we're supposed to be the guys who were FOR religious freedom :-\.
