PC Games you loved could have never existed because nobody's heard about em

Maybe it's just me..., but there were these old games that I could always go back to and replay them again and again.
I fell in love with these games and they could have changed the person I am now for all I know, but whenever I try to express my love for them in reminiscence... Nobody's ever heard of them!

Shatter my childhood will you?!
I will geek out now.

PC Adventure games like King's Quest and Quest for Glory (Hero's Quest) and Laura Bow!
Games that truly taught you the meaning of trial and error. YOU DIE in these games if you do the wrong thing. Fantastic! None of that "it's okay; try again" nonsense! :D Reload your save game!
Plus: Death Puns, Copyright protection, and (for Quest for Glory) the oldest of video game guitar sounds. :03

Basically anything with a Fantasy backing gets my goats off.

RPGs that nobody's heard of! Septerra Core and Arcanum
Shittiest (pardonez-moi monsieur) battle systems in games ever! Well, they were still functional, and they would play out... But they were never fun! Though.. though.. nice and long storylines which is what this loser likes. :03

Septerra Core rocked! Decent graphics for the time, and a looong and kinda interesting story line as well as interesting characters. Well, that's what usually makes those RPGs like RPGs like FF RPGs... Though this is the kind of battle system you appreciate when you're just getting into gaming. Kids are toooo pampered these days!

Arcanum is extensive! Lots of stuff, lots of stuff to do, horribly game for a perfectionist. Just can never get it all right, and rather inconsistent of a game as far as AI goes. Stabbed with bugs and glitched every which way...
BEST EVER dialogue selection in this game. Imagine Fallout (anything) but much more open, much more possibility, much more influence, more character manipulation. Actually... it's a lot like a lower graphic'd, better story'd, fantasy, magical, longer, character dynamic Fallout.

I really.. really just wanted to rant. Loved those games...  :(

Ravenwood

Old school games like Red Alert, Diablo1, Doom 1 and 2.

Also ones like Panzer General.

Not to mention kick ass shooer/rpg game slike Deus Ex, and System Shock 1 and 2.

And then there's Carmageddon.

mArZiPaN!

Oooo Carmageddon all the versions .. much win

Roller Coaster Tycoon I lost many months to that back in the day.

King's Quest is a classic!  It is not some small game no-one's heard of.  I'm sure it (and even more so Space Quest) influenced the direction of game development for years!  I'd guess the only people who don't know about it are those who aren't old enough, or weren't gaming back then.

And I don't know about anyone else, but I've heard of almost all the other games you've listed.

Those games are well known though.

As for my game for this, I would have to say Cave Story. Probably the best indy game ever made out there. Japanese version of the metroid games but is a lot more fun I find. A little furry too I guess.

Wyrd-Hotd

heh, Red Alert, ahh some good times, but even more so with Red Alert 2 for me, and honestly like no-one i know has ever heard of em O.o and i still play them XD well 2 at least

Yeah, I use to love playing RA2 online with some friends. Though one game that I liked that was under the radar till the 2nd one came out was MechCommander. That was a tough but fun game and it came with a nice manual to. I loved the RTS game style they used.

if this topic means "games youve played that your sure NOBODY else has" then i can lsit my favorite broken diamond in the dirt.

Many moons ago, around the time of Battlefiueld 1942s prime, there existed other game sof the same genre who tried to break into it. Alot failed. In fact, all failed.
But one stood up to give DiCE the ol' middle finger, developed by Wings Simulations and published by JoWood, it was called "S?ldner: Secret Wars"

The game featured customizable character avatars, hundreds of different real world weapons, faaar more vehicles than 1942 and even the future BF2 could shake a stick at (for instance, does BF series have VTOLs yet? This game did), there was a comprehensive economy system for your persistant characters money making, but it also featured one of the most complete Destructible Environments ever.
You can level entire buildings with a couple well placed C4 on vital support beams. You can blow holes in ANY building ANYWHERE. Say your target jumps into a building and starts climbing the stairs: take your tank or Panzerfaust and blow a hole in the wall, exposing the bastard. But if you want the SCOPE of how much you could destroy: All trees and foliage were effected by bullets and explosions, and high explosives can even create craters with which to give you more cover as another tactical decision.

Quote
    * Advanced Gestures System (AGS) - Player can use gestures for pointing to dangers or swearing at enemies.
    * Advanced Destruction System (ADS) - Player can destroy nearly all buildings, terrain and vegetation.
    * Unit Customisation System (UCS) - Player can arrange the outfit choosing from different clothes, boots and caps.
    * All maps are embedded in a nearly endless one, player won't reach borders (6500 x 3500 km)
    * Commander mode - Players elect one commander who sees battlefield from top, gives orders and manages the team account for buying heavy tanks or sth. else.
    * Mobile Respawn Vehicles - Vehicles are converted into spawnpoints if parked.
    * Helicopter Lifting - Some helicopters (for example: Chinook, Blackhawk) can lift up vehicles.[2][3]

The game failed because on release, it was too buggy to play. For being unplayable it got remarkedly low scores. Eventually after all the patches its 100% playable and realized.
Inf act its still got a cult following who are continuously making improvements to the games source.
All i want in life... is life.

PPFFT; hahaha Okay THAT was cheesy.

Westward Ho was pretty cool. Or how about Stunts, if we're going all the way back to the Stone Age? I suspect Stunts was at least a bit known, though.

Ember

Dungeon Keeper 2.

Way ahead of its time. I really wish they had gotten around to making DK3,

You mean "Companion of Xanth" right? that was actually based off the book "Demons Don't Dream" By Piers Anthony, ironically writing it like a computer game

Yeah! I know it's a classic, good ol' sierra games. Just one of those games that I fell in love with and the others had shattered my dreams of love with.
Curse my generation!

And it's too bad I've forgotten the cheesey-goodness of DOS. And also- my use of Dos-box.
I really need to play these games again... :S

You know what was a cool Sierra (-published, anyway) game? Silpheed. I suspect it's been largely forgotten, though, since they weren't really known for anything but RPGs back in the day.

QuotePC Adventure games like King's Quest and Quest for Glory (Hero's Quest) and Laura Bow!

I never did get the Dazzle spell in Quest for Glory. Hmf.
