Hi all! the name's Shayne, and i'm a Victoria (Westshore, technically) "bearog" (black bear/rottweiler hybrid to be exact)

I'm a horseback rider, college dropout, fulltime kennel assistant, and overall animal lover. when not working or riding, i'm usually found in my room working on designing my fursuit, or playing with my pet cats or degus.

I enjoy meeting new people, drinking coffee, and driving my little stick shift car, so if any south island furs would like to meet up sometime, gimme a shout!

Howdy and welcome! Do you show your horse or just ride for pleasure?

my lease horse (i can't afford to own) is only just getting back to work after a random (but crippling) injury last August, so no showing for us for a while.

I haven't competed in a few years, it wasn't until november of 2008 that i settled on Viejo, a now 24 year old ex racehorse (he's a thoroughbred, haha, and still thinks he's a racehorse!!!)

Oh man, you sound like you have a great life to me! I know it's not that simple...but I miss riding SO MUCH. I can't afford lessons, leasing, or anything else...but whenever I have a birthday, that's all I want! I finally got my husband on a horse, too!
Good to have you on the forums! I'm new, as well! A bearog sounds neat...do you draw? If so, got any drawings of it? I'd love to see!

I fail at drawing, haha. i dabble in watercolour painting though.

no pictures of my bearog as of yet, but in a couple weeks (when she's back from camping) a friend of mine is going to help me with my reference sheet so i can get a commissioned suit going! :birdy:

Ouch about the injury D:. Very cool you're back on the horse though. We have minis that we drive and show, we also have a 16h Paint mare that we are getting into shape. Might try and make the Fall Sport Horse show in Cloverdale but I dunno. If you need a ride and come into the Fraser Valley, lemme know ;3

Hi Bearog.  Victoria is a beautiful city; I sometimes go there with my Dad.

Another Island fur! Perhaps Runemist and I will be able to hang with you when we move down to Victoria next spring. Usually, our visiting of Victoria is pretty sporadic.
