Mental health disorders are extremely challenging to live with. They are not something you just suck up and get better from. Depression can be profoundly debilitating for some people. Carl you can get help. The government provides free mental health services to those in need. http://www.fraserhealth.ca/find_us/locations/ You can use this page to find a mental health services office near you. To help with moving out you should consider trying to find some room mates to split the cost with.

Parents have children so that they'll have someone to financially take care of them in old age if they need it. The average child costs almost $250,000 to raise to the age of 18 in Canada. What you've done is leech off them to an extent that you've cost them much, much more... How hard is it to get a minimum wage job? You've fucked up your parent's retirement fund enough already.

selfish parents maybe, but the goal of most parents should to be to propagate forward, to make things better for their children.

oh right, this be the complaint thread, so.....   grumble grumble, i hate it when i need to remember stuff, and forget, not just the small stuff, but the important ones just as much...

(yup, i suffer the absent-mindedness that seems to come to us professor types... oh well)
you should join the "Ethereal friends of professor whovianart" on facebook, if anything, to find out where i currently am, or will be.

Thanks for the link Jay, but unfortunately none of the depression-related services will deal with a person over 25, and most of them require a referral.

Any other suggestions, or am I missing something?

regarding comments about elders.  there was a saying when i was a youth to 'respect your elders' yet some refuse to do so.  i don't ask you to love me nor to be my friend, but at least have some respect to me and others as people.  you have no idea what some of us have endured in order to make life easier for the generations that follow.  for an example, look up the richmond street bath raids in the late 70's in toronto.  for no other reason than we are gay did they make the raid.  look at the pride parade as it is now.  approx 35 years ago there was no such thing as a pride parade.  and if you check it out, the parade was only about 5 blocks long lasting about an hour.  now it starts on robson at thurlow and goes down to denman then around to sunset beach lasting 3 or 4 hours.

my complaint is more towards one person (and anyone else) in this community that has not yet had the decency to realize that they are wrong to suggest people 'run away', and so far hasn't been man enough to admit it and apologize.  i wonder why, at 35 yrs old, he still calls himself a 'boy'?

Very good point. I don't usually conflate different forms of discrimination together but I have to make it an exception in terms of how you've linked it up.

The next time someone discriminates against another based on age, social, or economic standing just to name a few, they should remember that they too were once faced with discrimination, such as sexuality for instance, themselves.  ;)
