Okay, so I have a friend in Utah, and he told me today that a new law was passed where you can't talk to anybody under the age of 18, whether you be friends or not. And I think that's pretty fucked up in all honesty. First of all, I think there should be an age limit as to when that begins, considering he's only 2 years older than me and I'm only 20, plus he's a furry, so quite a few of his friends are either exactly or a bit younger than 18, and second of all, it's not fair to him or anybody else in that state. He had to delete over 30 of his friends on MSN alone and he's really upset. That really blows my lid. I feel so bad for him right now. D: <

So utterly unconstitutional it's not even funny, if it's true. Take it with a grain of salt, though; It may just be another one of these "Adult/child predator online acts" that tends to evaporate under the slightest whiff of judicial challenge.

lol So Joel finally saw the note I wrote up the other day about how our landlord came by and was disgusted with the place and how I said that I was thinking about moving in spring, and how they'd have to move too. Also about how nothing we talked about in the meeting has become any better. Also that I said that I can tell they hate cleaning, but if they are both willing to pay $50 more in rent per month (so I pay $100 less), I will do all the cleaning from now on.

He wrote back and flipped out. He claimed that he did dishes 4 times this month (he did some 2 times, and left a bunch more just in the sink in hot soapy water and left them so I had to drain the cold gross water later) and how he was the ONLY ONE that did dishes... excuse me? I do my dishes the same night or the night after I dirty them. Unless I can't get to the sink or I am feeling particularly pissed off at their mess (but then of course if I leave one thing out for more than one day, I get notes calling it disgusting).

He even brought out the old "It is a two way street!" line. APSKJALSDKLKDFJSDJI!!!!! Can't he see the mess that they always have everywhere? Don't they know how little they actually do? JEEBUS.

So, I cleaned the kitchen AGAIN, and wrote back why I am mad. I also said that if they can actually help keep the place clean for the next month, I will drop the $50 thing. If they can't, I will ask again and if they both aren't on board, I am leaving.

*sigh*

I'd like to know what that law is actually called. I think there's a large misunderstanding of the law their ... but then again, it is Utah. I can't find anything online that's related to this law at all. Also, how in the world would they enforce it? There would literally be an impossible age gap in communication ... couldn't hire teens for jobs, parent's can't talk to their kids, etc. There's more details here, and I'd love to know what they are.

if that is true that would be stupid that means he couldn't have any older friends, his parents or teachers wouldn't be able to communicate with him and how the hell would that be enforced? that is just stupid like how the US is trying to censor the internet which again doesn't come to a surprise the goverment does stupid things sometimes which is why I hate politics and politions

example prior to the 2010 Olympics all of our tax money that we could have spent upgrading Whistler's rec center which was designed to be later upgraded and through politics they decide to build an Olympic sized rink out in Penticton? I mean Really? that makes a whole lot a sence seeing as anything "Olympic" is a 5hour drive away from there

Haha, no worries about the ranting xD It's apparently online. He didn't really tell me much detail about it, except that he asked his family more than 2x and they confirmed. Though it is a bit suspicious that they never told him the name of the law.. I feel so bad for him because he's still feeling really bad about having to delete over 30 of his contacts apparently.. :/
