New to the scene and curious!

I found my way to the furry community through a number of ways.  Primarily though I've always closely associated with cats.  This, combined with my love of ancient egypt, introduced me to the anthromorphic cat form of the Goddess Bast.  It has been fairly straight-line from there, though I had always just been an internet lurker of the scene until I met some people through a LARP, where I play a Felinae (cat person) who introduced me to the local vancouver area community through a meet in I believe April.
So then here I am, looking to find out more about the community and meet new and interesting people, make friends, have a good time all-round, all that good stuff.

For anyone who was at the vancouver meet in surrey a few months back, I was the fairly lost looking one with dyed red hair.

I work in IT and networks, currently as a contractor.  As an avid gamer and watcher of anime I've helped run the video games room at Anime Evolution for the past 5-6 years.  I attend the Sin City club night on a semi-regular basis, and have put together a semi-decent Steampunk outfit. Despite all of this, I do not have much in the way of costuming (at least in my opinion) and I am always looking to expand my wardrobe with interesting new things.

I've most recently been really into SC2 and ME2 for the computer, with a smattering of getting partially back into WoW.  I don't do any console gaming, don't even have a TV.  I also play my share it sit-down/larp style games.

Cool, I just finished the APB beta, kinda in a lul right now.. BF BC2 was a let down, BF2 is too old.. Stuck with CS:S, CoH and WoW if I want to reactivate :P

Bast happens to be my favourite of the Egyptian gods. I rarely ever meet anyone who's heard of her, let alone anyone who's as fond of her as I am, so it's safe to say you've just made my day, hehe.

Hehe. Awesome. I have also always felt a connection to Egypt and most specifically Bast. I have had this connection with cats all my life and when I discovered the fandom I finally felt like people understood how I felt. I'm glad you too found us.
