I really looked into that career, and the demands tend to stack and availability is poor.

Fighter pilots are required to be a certain size.   Not only is the cockpit small as heck, smaller framed people stand a better chance with downward pulling G-forces.

I am sure its not just the millions spent on training and equipment, that drives the united states to produce massive flash operations just to recover downed fighter pilots.  Only certain people fit the bill.

Being an American would help. Their air force is pretty big and with a larger variety of fixed winged air crafts.

I wanted to be a zoologist for a long time, but when I actually went to school I opted out of that because I didn't feel like there was a lot I could do with just a bachelor's. Nowadays I'd really like to get into usability, industrial design, something like that.

I have little to no depth perception and peripheral vision on one side. I don't think anyone would want me flying in close formation with them. *g*
