I don't have my Fursuit yet but I'm working with a maker right now to get it made hopefully in time for Vancoufur next year, but I was wondering if any of you have went to the mall with permission from the mall to be there?  I'm thinking of going next Halloween dressed in my full Fursuit and I would like some help with what to say to the mall to get permission from them, obviously I wouldn't do it outside of Halloween because there's no point in doing that but I'd really like to try it out.

Also have any of you been hired by movie theatres to come into the theatre for a movie premiere and interact with the audience?  I'd like to see if I could figure out a way to do that at Colossus movie theatre sometime for a big Blockbuster movie premiere, not necessarily a Furry-esque movie like Zootopia but something big, like Star Wars or a Marvel movie where they've got advanced screenings of the movie.

you dont need to get permission just wear your fur suit. its not like they can kick you out of the mall for the outfit your wearing.

Sorry badlands, but I'd consider that to be bad advice.

In most cases, malls and movie theatres do have a problem against people wearing something that masks their faces, doesn't matter whether it's something as suspicious or unsettling as a balaclava or something as cute and fluffy like a fursuit head. This has been particularly amplified by recent shootings such as the one in Aurora, Colorado. I'm fairly sure policies have actually been updated due to said shootings, so in all likelyhood, they can and will kick you out.

You could attempt to gain permission to suit around during an event such as Halloween or the Pride Festival, but honestly, even proper large fursuit walks - that happen during those particular events where dressing up is encouraged - are usually organized outdoors, just because it can be quite the hassle to gain said permission.

It's not like you're out of options if you drop the malls and movie theatres as suiting locations. You've still got the furry conventions, some bowling events that are fursuiter friendly, and a fair share of outdoor fursuit walks happening in public places every once in a while :)

i walk all over downtown and english bay in mine. i ride the skytrain and bus home in fullsuit. i have not gone to a mall for said reasons. i like to just go and wander. i will go anytime, i dont need an excuse, as long as im not working. the only indoor place i go is london drugs, because i work there. its too hot inside though.

make sure when you walk you have a friend with you as a spotter, when at all possible, by the way looking for furries to suit with.
