i was in the animation program. are you taking 3d or 2d? i was in the two year program. I graduated from the two year 2d program almost seven years back. haven't done much with it since beyond writing pursuits. suffered a bit of an art burn-out but... good news is i am getting back into art in a big way. currently using "schoolism" to help refresh some of my art studies and i am also working on a graphic novel/web comic project. in the next few years i should have something to show for it all.

i have stories....good and bad ...lol. but over all it wasn't a bad school, i just never was some art prodigy and so i had to work twice as hard and my final result was a third as good as my classmates. a huge reason why i had such an art-block-hiatus was because by the end i either forgot i actulay did have actual art talents, or i was left with the impression that i was not good enough because i was not some star golden art student lol. Life has a way of teaching you in weird methods and by the time some real heavy duty life stuff such as a few funerals came along, it really sort of put the rest of the BS into perspective and helped me regain some focus again.

End of the day, the biggest lesson i learned from the animation program was that i am more interested in telling stories. i thought i wanted to do that through animation but it seems that graphic novels/web comics are my actual future. As one stranger to another ^_^ i sincerely wish you the best with it and hopefully you will have a bit more positive of an experience. it is a great school if you can meet its challenge. i barely squeaked by because it is not a school that teaches you how to draw, it is a school that takes your drawing skills and teaches you how to animate. if you are going into the 3D program though it is not as much of an issue.

Though... i do highly recommend you keep your "furry fandom" stuff completely separated. i could go into detail but, simple explanation is to say that animation industry/schools tend to frown upon furs due to things like Disney mascots vs. fur suiters. and how furs tend to rule 34 anything lol. i never admitted i was a fur and I am rather subtitle, but because i drew a lot of wolves it was rather obvious and i had a few negative reactions even though i am a clean artist who does not draw porn and am so subtle about being a fur you would never know lol.
