Ratties need new home

As some of you know, I have a few rats adopted from people that could not take care of them anymore. And unfortunately circumstances in my life have changed drastically I have fallen into a situation I can no longer take care of them.

I am looking for loving homes for them. They are all in their prime, they aren't young anymore, but they love cuddles, rubs, attention, being packed around, scritches especially on the face, and all that goodness. And they need good loving homes to take care of them for the rest of their lives. I can no longer keep up with the cage maintenance due to physical problems.

These are family members, or to some "pets", they are not food, they are not for anything other than being loving companions that love nothing more than to clean you and love you.

Two of them are called Speedy and Stormy. They are the cage they were raised in before I adopted them. They were named by a little boy that almost died of diabetes and these two loving guys helped the boy push through. They were adopted out because the little boy got into soccer and sports after his near-death experience, and he didn't have time for them anymore. They are two little heroes that deserve a good, warm loving home.

In another cage I adopted three others (before I adopted Speedy & Stormy) and their names are Shire, Snow and V. Shire and Snow have fought with each other since before I got them, but they never really seriously hurt each other, it's more noise than anything when they argue. V stays out of it whenever he can. I would like to adopt Snow out separately as he does better on his own with human attention more than other rats. But they also can all stay together. V loves being rubbed between his eyes and he loves licking lips and finger tips. He loves being on a shoulder and going for walks and is the sweetest thing. Shire loves pets, and exploring. He isn't much of a "pick me up" rat, but he does love face rubs and they all like their paws being gently massaged too. Snow likes to explore too, but he'd much rather go off on his own than hang with the other two. He loves ear massages and uppies too. Shire is the oldest, Snow is second oldest, and V is the youngest. Shire will be two in February, Snow in March will be two, and V in April will also be two.

It breaks my heart and it's painful just to write any of this, but I can't keep up with them anymore and they need someone who can do the physical labour I cannot provide for them. I use to get help cleaning the cages and the help is no longer available to me, and I'm struggling.

Speedy and Stormy must go together, V and Shire must go together, and Snow must either go with V & Shire or be adopted on his own.

The three boys have a three-tier cage with a large rat wheel in it. I would prefer someone provide their own cage for them as I've had the cage for the past 7 or so years and it's homed many loving rats over the years. It has a few nibbles in it, but is still perfectly suitable to continue housing rats for years to come. I don't want to separate with the cage because of the memories, but I am willing to if need be.

And the two boys in the other cage have two tiers in it instead of three, and it use to have ramps in it but they kept sliding down them and in their old age it's easier for them to climb the bars than a ramp they cannot grip. They will be adopted out in their current cage as they were raised in it and it's their home.

Unfortunately Speedy and Stormy do no get along with any of the other rats, I've tried for a long time to get them to get along but it's just never going to happen.

They all love attention and love giving attention, and are the best companions one could ask for. They are great therapy animals too. And no rat is ever too old to learn new tricks. Anything a dog can learn a rat can learn (more in fact) including sit, stay, fetch, and so on. I have not taught them many tricks, but anyone that likes training they love to learn. I would like to have meet-and-greets for them to find them the perfect homes. I will not be giving them to someone that isn't willing to take the time to get to know them and if they are the right fit for the boys.

They don't cost much to upkeep. Their food is inexpensive. But their love and affection is priceless and unconditional.

I'm looking for serious inquiries only. These rats are family members, they mean the world to me. Anyone inquiring on them for anything other than them being a part of a family should look elsewhere for rats - they are not food for other animals or for any other purpose other than a loving family member.

It will have to also be pick up only as I have no vehicle.

Please send me a PM for all questions and inquiries. If you cannot take them but you know someone who might be able to, please pass this along.

Thank you, Sincerely

If I had the money I would definitely take them, rats are such sweethearts. Best of luck though! <3
