New West Pride

Was great to meet a bunch of you at Sushi on Tuesday. I mentioned to a few people that New West Pride strives to showcase events around town that might be of interest to the LGBT community. We try to focus on things that regularly happen in New West so that people checking out the community, or recently moved here (or been here a while but still don't really know what sort of LGBT friendly stuff happens) can get a taste of what New West offers.

I think it would be super cool to have an official event during New West Pride week (Aug 8-15) to highlight the weekly sushi meet up. My idea is basically list an event for the Tuesday (Aug 11) that includes meeting for sushi, grabbing bubble tea then heading down to pier park...essentially a normal tuesday.

Any thoughts? Would this be cool?

PS. that was tons of fun on the hammocks on Tuesday!

The event organizer is 'Ren' ... since it is still officially his event, it might be good to pass this by him. I really don't think he would have any problem with it tho ...

Another factor is, are we sure that Okonomi would be on board with this? Up till now, it's been a private event, with only individuals behind it, and on a board where you need a approved account to even see it.

I couldn't imagine Okonomi Sushi not being OK with it, as it will bring them business. I'll shoot Ren a message :)

Also, What about having a BCFurries Booth at the pride festival. Maybe make it a little Furry hang-out?
