Could laptop bags-- the ones you wear over a shoulder-- be used for school books and such? o.o'
I mean.. The bags you wear like a messanger bag or a satchel... Could they be used for school, or are they too impractical/small? o.o'

If it is netbook sized, I would say only if your textbooks were paperback novels. I had trouble fitting any sort of paper or binder in mine. If it sizes like a courier bag, and has a comfortable strap, then certainly.

I will have to note that if your books are heavy, even with a comfy strap it will start to bother your shoulder after awhile. I've learned carrying anything heavy any distance is difficult.

The farther one travels, the less one knows.

I'd say that the problem is less about the amount you can carry (if you've got a fair sized messenger bag per say) Rather, carrying lots of weight mostly on one shoulder is really bad for your back, but to each his own~

Currently I've got about 3 binders (not a lot in each), a math text book (400/500 ish pages) and a notebook (300 pages).

It fits well on my backpack, but the backpack-- even without anything in it-- feels so incapacitating... ^.^'

although the bag i have is small, it does have the ability to switch sides on the strap.  if you can find one large enough to hold your binders and books that can be used over either shoulder then buy it.  then make sure you switch the strap often.

Where do you suggest I look for such a bag? And what would the price range be? o.o'

Amazon.com would be a good place to start.

Local places, Walmart / Thrift stores (Value Village /Salvation Army / etc)
"God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time."   - Terry Pratchett

If you are considering a bag like that I would only recomend using it for occasions. I wore a laptop bag for a few years and noe I regret it I only use it for when I go to work and have next to nothing in it. Though I have seen bags that you can wear over the shoulder, but it has straps so that you can wear it as a back pack of sorts.
I've always been told to never look a life behind a window to go outside and join the world, but what about the world behind that window makes the outside so much better?
