Could've been a lot worse for you... here in Vic a cyclist got hit by a minivan. The police closed the whole intersection and had roadblocks at all four roads leading to the intersection (Blanshard and Bay streets). Here: http://www.timescolonist.com/news/local/cyclist-seriously-hurt-in-collision-at-bay-and-blanshard-1.89369

Anyway... my complaint for the day. Handing out tons of resumes and application forms only to hear absolutely nothing back from 99% of them.

Oh yeah it could definitely have been worse! As vehicle-cyclist accidents go it was mild. I'm just whining because it hurts to move my left side now xD

That wasn't the same crash my uncle was in, but recently while he was cycling he got hit by a truck, even worse was that when the driver got out to see if he was okay the truck was still on his leg

I just spent almost a week in the hospital. I was on my way to dying of a major hemorrhage. All the hospital staff I talked to were amazed that my blood level was so low and I was still walking around... although it was incredibly hard to do so. I got a blood transfusion (10 units) and I am feeling better now.

The hospital was really boring though and I only got one visitor for 5 minutes 'cause she had to go to work. I mostly laid in the bed, staring out the window. At least I got the window bed.

trying this special whitening toothpaste my dentist recommended I noticed it tasted kind of funny, so I checked the ingredients out of curiosity and saw that... it contains urea peroxide >.< now I can't tell if it tastes like piss because I know that, or if it just actually tastes like piss.

i don't know if it is still on the market but there was a toothpaste called Mclean's.  it contained chloroform, the stuff doctor's use to put you to sleep before an operation.

and this was deemed to be safe.

Been applying basically EVERYWHERE in Victoria for jobs. Cashier... customer service attendant... sales representative, operations services clerk... you name it - I've applied for it. Unfortunately I don't think it's doing much good because the key to getting any form of employment in these fields now is 'EXPERIENCE' - usually at least six months of it. Nothing is entry-level anymore... and if an entry-level job does come up they're looking for post-secondary qualifications or currently-enrolled students.

I'm starting to regret working for Canadian Property Stars.
They get you up early in the morning (6am is way too early for me to get up, at least just yet), and get you home late at night (11pm on Monday, but 10pm for the most part), which wouldn't give me much time to prepare for my next day if I were working consecutive days.

Add to that the fact that I'm not really comfortable doing what is essentially cold sales, and I'm not making much money on them right now... =>.<=

You got to be persistent and really show them you want the job. That's what managers look for, I know I would hire somebody if they were constantly trying to get a job at my work. It shows they have good work ethic and determination and that's a good quality. And if you visit the place regularly and talk to the supervisor/manager and get them to know you, they won't feel as reluctant to hire. Being stubborn is the key. :3

Also, good luck!

Thanks Nibi. It actually paid off - I had an interview today and I start two days of training on Monday :)

My complaint for the night... I bought two tickets for Lotto 6/49 and I didn't win anything on either of them - but came maddeningly close on one of them.
