Cold is getting better.
I'm sounding worse, and starting to cough stuff up.

Also, I'm quite lucky that I managed to deliver my newspapers when I did, because it was about the only dry time of day!
Barely an hour after I got back home, it started to rain heavily.

If it had been a little earlier in the day, it would even have been sunny!

I'm really sorry Panda, but I'm afraid you can't. Currently Blood Services Canada does not allow gay men to donate blood.

hey i googled it, and alas it is true.

but on a happier side, there are people working to change that, and if it`s something you want to do, then get on the bandwagon and fight for the right.

you should join the "Ethereal friends of professor whovianart" on facebook, if anything, to find out where i currently am, or will be.

Supposedly, higher risk of certain diseases. AKA: Gay = AIDS.

Nibi

I think it's because they had a huge outbreak in the 80's with gays getting AIDS (just sayin' what I've heard), but since then sexual education has gotten a lot better so I'm going to make the assumption that it's no longer needed to ban all gays from donating blood.

Either way, I got banned from donating blood because it was faulty and they thought I had something and then they sent me a later saying, "Oops! You're actually perfectly healthy, but because we fucked up, you can never donate blood again." =.= They need to get their shit together. XD

what I was thinking, and here I thought Canada had gotten past the whole "AIDS is the gay disease" bull puckey

Ok so that makes a little bit of sense in a stupid kind of way (just test the person for said diseases wut? no that's too complicated I guess?) but can't people just say they aren't gay? I mean how are they going to prove a person is gay?

They could just say they aren't gay and it wouldn't be that big of a deal either because they still check ALL of the blood that's donated before they use it. :\
