I find technological expansion rather interesting :D Lol hopefully we can transcend beyond just making overpriced phones XD

Extended lives would actually be rather interesting. One curiosity I have always had was the potential to somehow preserve the conscience mind even beyond death. Though I know that is a huuuuuge can of worms. ^^;

I saved this site a long time ago but it's kind of interesting and sort of related. http://www.mprize.org/

Sevrin    isn't the imagination a wonderful thing?  you keep thinking that way and life will be wonderful all the time.  say hello to the men in the white coats for me

Actually Drake, that might not be as preposterous as you might think, sure it may lead to many problems relating to ethics and whatnot but it's already underway and perhaps you would be interested in checking out the IBM SyNAPSE project?

It's just an attempt to build better computers based on the human brain, but technology like this combined with brain copying technology (which are also in development but finding all these sources for everything is giving me a headache) would allow consciousness uploading, then all you would need is emotion emulation software... it's a distant prospect but its very possible it could happen in our lifetimes.

Imagination takes no part in this, I have actual sources for my claims, I'll give you some examples of what I mean:

extending life with genetic engineering, developing toxin cleansing bacterium, and many other methods:
they are already doing experiments on prolonging the life of mice, and succeeding! as shown in Nibi's post. mice are genetically quite similar to humans, so things that work on mice, would not be hard to replicate on humans. You see, the thing about our DNA is that it is very far from perfect, and there are actually gene sequences that are responsible for much of our aging, if you could just remove these gene sequences you would be able to live much MUCH longer!

there are also other methods, like removing the garbage that your body is incapable of dealing with or removing that slowly gunks up your body as you get older, look up aubrey de grey if you want to find out more about it, I'm not interested in finding more sources for you.

cloning organs with pig organ scaffolding: the process of decellularizing organs and filling them with the recipients stem cells causing it to recellularize with the hosts cells, therefor decreasing the odds of organ rejection to almost nothing, this can be done with pig organs. this process could easily extend the lives of humans by 50 years.

its a very new concept so I wasn't able to find much more reliable information on it, but there you go.

there's also genetic engineering in plants, computers designed to emulate biological brains, realistic android creation, increasingly more accurate brain mapping and many other such things, I don't care about proving my point to you enough though to spend the next hour looking for more sources.

There's two things I'm happy about this coming weekend: I may work this Saturday and earn a little more overtime, and/or I'll have a three day weekend.

Last night was amazing, I went for a walk in the park, and I was the only one there for most of my walk, the temperature was perfect for a brisk walk, not so cold as to be uncomfortable, but just cold enough so that I wouldn't get hot. The almost entirely full moon was beautiful and cast just the perfect amount of light, and the clouds were visible and there were enough of them to be scenic, but not obscure the moon. *sigh* I wish every night could be like that! :-3

Took words out of my mouth -

My midnight nature stroll involved a lone coyote following me. Made for one of those mystical nights.

Ah yes, tonight is a blue moon you guys. :3 Next time it'll happen will be in 2.7 years.

[insert blue moon joke here]

Had someone hug me today and tell me my hair smells fantastic! made my day :-3

OMG, I finally killed the mosquito that was hiding in my room and sucking me up for the last 5 days!

Bumped in to Void on way to pick up few supplies for the swamp tromp tomorrow putting smile on my face, and a package on way back containing a neat electronics kit I ordered. Had to let out "murrr..." few times under my breath going past some of the nature scenery. Stoney Creek, Burnaby and coastal mountains are so beautiful...

Edit: Murr? Randomly I am given sushi! *chomps down on salmon sashimi*

Despite how warm it's been today and yesterday, the breeze has been downright chilly at times. =^.^=
