Yes. this is a real topic.

I'm in sudden realization that I need ready-made custard (NOT FROZEN by the way)for a very special day on saturday. I have no baking/food-making skills and so I turn to you guys. I am in central bc (Kelowna to be precise) so need stores that'd likely be around here. I don't have time to run all over town hunting it down so any help would be really appreciated. Google turned up nada for canada-specific stores otherwise I wouldn't be here.

but yeah. this is a pretty random question I need an answer to XD

also if you happen to know what this is in reference to, speak up as I'd love to know like-minded people ;P

So whereeee can I buy some premade custard? :3

I don't know if you'll be able to find something like that -- maybe call around to a few bakeries that use custard and see if one of them would be willing to sell you some?
Does it have to be made from scratch? I know you can get powdered custard at most grocery stores, and a lot of them only require boiled milk or water to make.

save-on used to have it in the bulk food section.

but if you can boil water and constantly stirr, then i suggest "byrd`s" brand custard powder, almost all major food stores will have them, but really making from scratch is not that hard.
you should join the "Ethereal friends of professor whovianart" on facebook, if anything, to find out where i currently am, or will be.

I actually said ready-made, which means already prepared, I'm by no means good at making...well, almost anything XD I'd rather just buy it ready-to-eat

I'd do powdered if I was confident it'd turn out well at my hand however the other thing is I need it to be the 'proper' UK-style custard, with egg in it for that nice thick consistency.

I'd say call the local grocery stores and see what they have in stock. Stores with a bakery might sell it in in-store portioned sizes, or you can ask if they have any ready made custard in the pudding aisle.

Saves you from having to run all over town, and should get you what you need. ^.~

I'm aware that it means already made, but since it'll likely be difficult to find, I was offering a possible alternative. You really should be fine with instant as a last resort if you can't find pre-made custard. Unless you're looking less for a pudding/pastry-filling sort of custard and more for something of the crème caramel variety. In that case, calling around really is your best option -- some places may make it special order. Try some cafes, too, since some do make special desserts.

I think you can order it from most bakeries (Try it with fish fingers)

Most common pastrie(s) bakeries in Bc would have something like this, if you know where to find any places that specialize in making cakes and such, should be the best bet ^^;
