Oh man, I hope they don't screw this up like MW4!
Then again, it's NOT being made by Microsoft!

I spent many, many hours playing 3 and 4.
This looks amazing!

Sweet a new Mechwarrior! Can't wait to play that one, as long as you can turn down the computers voice, she was getting annoying. That Atlas should have killed the Vulture (I think it was) way faster. Another thing is I don't see the enemies health or even your health and it is missing the heat gauge too. Lots of info was missing. Though most likely that wasn't a in game video, more of a cut scene.

Nice, I really liked mech assault on the Xbox.

Ahh, MechWarrior 2 memories... I think I have like 4 or 5 copies of that game, too.  The DOS ver, the Windows ver, the 3DFX ver, and the Titanium pack. XD

I have MechWarrior 3 somewhere but it just wasn't the same.  Stupid MS. :p

As long as they keep the sim aspects in (and it sounds like they will; producer guy mentions watching your heat levels, flushing coolant, etc.) like from MW2 this should be very sweet.  I really dig the shooting-the-building to blow out the Jenner's support, too.  Destructible environments? :D

If this game has fairly large scale multiplayer (16-player+?) it should be amazing.  I'm also excited for this co-op mode they hinted about too.

I totally agree. The simulated war aspect was the best part. You had to manage your ammo levels, customize your mech for the right situations was really a big thing. I also liked the skirmish in 3 which in my opinion was the best. But I think ill go play 2 some more, the graphics were just... meh.

Kithop

If you can find the Titanium Edition they updated the graphics a fair bit, though I think it only works in Win98, not 2K+.. @.x

I usually played the whole game in wire frame. even though your PPC shots became triangles.

Yeah BUT... less fetures and the med laser was a super weapon and it was easier...

Flufferton

I'll cry if they screw this one up. Seriously.

I much prefer the Assault series so not sure this one would peak my interest. My roomate tells me that Mech Assault and Mech Warrior were played differently.

Look sinteresting, i jsut hope there wont be dukin it out like in that vid.

I'm kinda an old school Mechwarrior Series fan. Played the classic Battletech boardgame in the early 90's, started with Mechwarrior 2 and played pretty much every pc video game since.

So you can understand that I'm pretty excited about this.

There's a lot more I want to know before getting fanboi-sh though. Mainly what platform is it in? I haven't been much of a gamer at all lately, but I've never really been a console gamer. If it'll be on PC I'm probably sold. If it's a console exclusive, I'm not really interested then. I don't plan on getting a current-gen console, and I feel that the old mechwarrior series really went dowhill when it went to the Mechassault console games. Still fun looking, but the fighting got so shallow and arcady. Not as much interest to the older-school players who enjoyed the tactical management of their mech as much as the reflex-action shoot'em'up stuff.

Otherwise; the graphics looked beautiful, the animations were kinda stale, but could maybe be fixed up more before release? And I'm super excited about the scene where the pilot is ejected in his parachute. I've always dreamed of how fun mechwarrior games could be with missions that involve getting out of your mech at times. Maybe to get into a facility to steal a mech, or escape your dyeing mech and get away, sometimes even having to avoid enemy mechs while you're so vulnerable. No health bars someone mentioned? Awesome. Health bars dont make sense in mech fights. The visual damage is all you should be able to go by and if they can pulll that off, great! Also I'm thrilled about it looking like it's a return to classic battletech, the 3025 era is still my favorite in that universe, as cool as the clans were.

Anyways, enough gushing. *goes off to listen to Mechwarrior 2 soundtrack for a while*
