My Proper Introduction

As some of you may know, I've been here for more than a month, almost 2, and haven't really introduced myself, so I think it's about time I create a proper introduction.

Unlike the large portion, if not all, of you, I don't really have a fursona, I got ideas of the looks, but got nothing for the name. I would like advance with it, but being just months away from being 30 and, only now, really getting started in the community, sometimes I feel I started too late and scares me away from really pursuing it further. In a way, it would be a chance to make some friends by helping me develop it and keep the age fear at bay.

So anyways, I guess I should tell you a little something about myself. Well there's not much to say. I don't have many accomplishments to post. Still looking for a real life girlfriend, I love technology, but sometimes, I swear it hates me. I love cars, more from a design aspect than a technical/power aspect. I believe my 1:18 scale car collection would prove that.

I would like to get to know more people, so if you would like to get in touch with me, I have left ways to contact me in my profile. Hopefully I'll hear from you in the future

hello hello, (echo) hello hello.
you should join the "Ethereal friends of professor whovianart" on facebook, if anything, to find out where i currently am, or will be.

  Duffy,
I have to thank you for informing me that you were roughly 36 before you got started, I felt it might have been too late for me to really go for it. Knowing that, it's nice to know I still got room to go.

Tef,
Hello again to you too, lol

and the professor,
Honestly, I did have my assignment finished, but then I spilled coffee on it, so i tried to print it again, but my printer decided it would be a perfect time to run out of ink, so I ran to the store, and it only compounded the situation, as the store didn't have the right ink for my printer, and... oh... umm... Hello there, don't mind the earlier part, lol

Tyins Darkwulf

welcome aboard buddy! I'm quite new too so we're sorta in the same boat regarding that aspect! Enjoying your stay so far?

Sasha

I find it great that at older age one can find himself here, although 2/3 of the way to 30, I do feel as a late starter as well.

Would love to meet some older folks as well as younger equally the same. That is, if my lack of social skills stops guiding me away from events..

Welcome :-3

Hey, I wouldn't be worried about starting too late. We all come to the fandom in our own ways. For me, it was a furry web comic that attracted my attention and things went from there. Given THAT kind of random event, anyone could become a furry at any time, and it makes their arrival no less special.

So welcome. I'm sure you'll find no ostracism for not having a fleshed out fursona yet. For quite some time I did not have one, only knowing that I identified strongly with the spirit of the wolf. About two years later was when I came up with a name and an identity for my furry alter ego.

 Tyins,
yeah, so far, it's been pretty good here. people have been pretty nice.

Tiger,
You can't be much different than me, socially, I don't get out much, so any social skills I have are kinda rusty as well.
I can't even really start a conversation, usually someone else starts it

JaNathun,
It's good to hear that someone else didn't have, as you say, a fleshed out fursona for some time.

If anyone cares to know how i got to this point, I tell you how it all began (cue fancy time warp visual & sound effects)

Well, it might not sound right, but this is how it all came to be. Back some time ago around 2004-5, I was using a image search to find, well, i don't think we need to go that in-depth, but along my search results was a furry image, so i thought i'll look at it after i'm, ahem, done. not understanding what it was, or even knowing that this thing called furry existed, i clicked the image and found more of these pictures. not sure if anyone has heard of the site VCL, that is the first place i found out that furry existed. so every so often, I'd go take a look at what had been added since last time. this is the time I started to feel like a furry myself.

Some time went by,  started on the whole myspace when it was big, and one day around 2007-8 being bored, I decided to do a myspace forum search for furry, and I came across one guy who was a furry, and seem to be very polite and open, so I asked if he'd be okay if I talked about the furry culture with him, he agreed and added me, we talked about it when he had free time, which was sometimes admittedly too long in between sometimes. and we still keep in touch, but through facebook now.

Recently though, I was reading an article about things people on their deathbed wish they had done. and it got me thinking, if I'm ever going to a be a part of this furry culture, I better get my ass into gear before i can't do anything about it, along with pursuing my furry life, I also wanted to get a broader perspective closer to home, and a search led me to find this place. Although I have yet to go further, this is were the story catches up to today.

Okay, wake up, story time is over.

I'm on facebook, I'll update my profile here in case you want to find me on there

not sure if anyone has heard of the site VCL,

LOL!  That's where it started for me, also around the same time. XD  I think it was about 2003/4 for me, stumbling across VCL after browsing for some cool dragon artwork.  And it was all downhill from there. =P

Glad I was of some help in getting you acquainted with the furry community, too.  Just wanted to make sure you go the right information. =)

Neox, I'm thankful for your help, It was you and a few others, that made me feel a little more at home here, even when things looked bleak, after my questions post seemingly blew up on me. It was nice to see people like you help me out of the figurative rubble of the aftermath.

Since you remember VCL, do you remember a comic strip on there, i think it was done by a british person, I believe there was a couple of canine characters, and a couple of dragon characters. I can't remember much more than that. It was one of the highlights of my visits there.

Lol vague descrip is vague.  VCL was (at least back then) just a huge jumble of art.  You couldn't watch/follow anyone, fave their art, or anything.  And I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of artists out there who've done comic strips with dragons and canines. =P
