For someone who doesn't know (like myself), where does CampFur usually take place?

Thats ok ... No one know exeactly where it will be ususally until about a week before. I can say - it will be located in the Coquihalla Valley just North east of Hope (very close to Hope) just off the Coquihalla Highway - Next to the Coquihalla River. It's governement crown land and cannot be 'reserved' however, I usually make plans to go up a week in advance and enlist a hearty soul who will camp in the spot we wish to occupy for the weekend. I come back and announce the exact location at that time.
Hope that helps!

Awesome! Will definitely be needing some help this year! It's still a bit early to line up the volunteers, but I will definitely keep you in mind when we are putting the list together ...

My supervisors dumped the entire schedule for the whole month of May on us tonight. I need to put in my rto asap if I'm going to get the time off.  :o

So the first day is June 21st, how many days long are we camping for?

This sounds really cool but I'm still a little curious about what I'm in for. Can anyone run down what happened last year?

As the organizer, I have a bit of a slanted perspective, but I'll try ...
I arrived early (for registration and set up). There were few there on the Friday afternoon (Last year, we started things on Friday, not Thursday). People started arriving - hugs abound - lots of conversation and a little bit of wandering to scope out the locale. Saturday, a group went for firewood. Another went on a hike. I was busy preparing the meals. The weather wasn't the greatest on Fri or Saturday, but I brought a lot of tarps (as did others) so there was some tweaking of the tarp configuration. We all stayed very dry during the wet periods. By Saturday afternoon, the sun began to poke thru. The turkeys were bathing nicely in the hot oil and the fries were being delicately sliced by a few volunteers. The turkey kinda did us in for the evening as we spent most of the night hanging around our enlarged campfire - drawing, telling stories. There was a fair bit of drinking that night as we partied under my Christmas lights - being powered by the generator - to help light the way of those who were a bit too intoxicated.  Sunday was a beautiful day - as all were starting to pack up. Some left a bit early but most stuck around. I (of course) was one of the last to leave. Everyone cleaned up well after themselves. The only thing left was the portable toilets (which had been arranged to be picked up on the next day). That's about it/
This year, I am hoping to have a couple local tours organized and perhaps an art table for people to sit and draw. We are running an extra day this year (but I do expect most to show up on the Friday anyway). The space we had last year was awesome, but would not suit the numbers I am expecting this year. This year, I have two spots in mind that would suit the numbers I am expecting - both are right by the river, one has large open spaces - the other is two sites that we could combine. Directions to the actual site will be sent out the week prior as I need to secure the spot, come back and send everyone directions.
Hope that answers your questions ... if not, let me know ...
