Aye, a large part of the fandom consists of folks in the 20 somethings, but I guess having said that, I have a small tendency to look for those a few years older than me. It's not really something set in stone, but hey, relationships is a complex issue regardless of age (though of course, it still has to be legal xP)

I am with Ruby on this one, as I see, if they are of age its all good. I don't feel like I have to bring up maturity and personality things because only you know what you truly want in someone and we all have different tastes. What I see as mature might be silly to some and what I see as "stick up ass" might be regarded as mature to others. lol

Theres nothing wrong with dating someone younger then you as long as you think the person your hitting on or you wanna date doesn't mind. I mean my boyfriend and I are 8 years apart. :p

age/2 + 7 has always been a good guide in my books. The only time I ever went against that was when I wasn't thinking with the right head. You can stop using that math when both parties are at least 24.

No matter what the relationship is based around, it is NEVER one sided and i seen all to many relationships with major age differences destroyed because they used age as an advantage and belittled each other...

it is possible if you love eachother and see eachother EQUALLY and remember the concept i put up above in quotes it will work, i have seen it and it is a wonderful thing when digits and forms mean nothing in a life

Rat, I've read through the posts here and have to agree with the maturity mattering more than the age. If you have shared interests with a person, the similarities is what should be the focus, not a number. Age differences can be problematic, but only if you let them - either from internal or external influences. I've had my share of younger mates - and more often than not, maturity has been a large factor in things ending. But on the other side of things, as is exampled by my sixteen years with Ice Karma - who is nine years younger than me - a relationship with an age difference, where there is open communication between both partners can work.

Yes, go compliment people. You should tell them you find'em attractive. Compliments usually make someones day seem so much better.

I'd try and go for the ten year mark for an age difference.

I myself have some bias on this subject as my grandfather remarried to a woman significantly younger than him as well as my dad is now engaged to a woman only eight or so years older than me.

Not everyone agrees with large age gaps, but I don't see anything particularly wrong with it. If the person you're interested in returns the affection then go all for it and do your best to ignore any crabs around you.

Finaly 18, time for lovers and voting. I think that dating someone who is young is okay to an extent.
Somone my age is generaly not a good fit for someone 25 because we aren't fully matured, and we are still in that young dumb phase. Oldest person I'd date is 22, because of the gap between someone 18-20 and someone 25 and up. so I'd say four years apart at most if they are under 21, and whatever after that.
