Hey there, all;

So, we have five ferrets here at our place.  They'r awesome and we'd love to keep them here, but it turns out that we've developed a bit of an allergy to them, and therefore we're looking for them to go to people who can take care of them and give them the time they need to run around out-of-cage.

They're quiet well-behaved; generally they use their litter boxes 9always in cage, and most often out, as well).  We have two HUGE ferretnation cagrs, which have multiple stories and lots of hanging beds and accessories.  They're just over a year old; still quite young.

We also have some food that can go with them.  They love hard-boiled eggs, as well; mushed up in a dish.  Gives them a bit of variety.

They're currently living separately; three live in one cage (2 boys, one girl), and 2 in another.  The first female is regular ferret-coloured, the two boys are a lighter grey/silver colour and they're quite large.  The other female is white, and the male that lives with her is regular-coloured.

We may be able to deliver for $50, or at least meet you somewhere.  We're up in Tumbler Ridge, BC, but we could make a trip out for the right people, if we can find homes for all of them in one trip.

We're asking $250 for the two ferrets, huge cage and all their accessories, or $350 for the three plus cage and all of their stuff.  If you're just interested in a lone ferret, we can let them go for $125 each without the cages.  The cages, new, cost over $500 each.

Hopefully we can find good homes; we'd love to know they're going to someone who's researched a bit on ferret care or who know something about them.  All of these guys are spayed/neutered and descented.  We've had ads up on classifieds sites asking for a bit more, but the responses have mostly been from people wanting 'cheap ferrets' and haven't especially sounded like decent homes.  All they need, really, is someone who'll keep them fed and watered, and give them attention/let them run around the house a bit.  They don't need the run of the whole house; just a bathroom or a room or two where they can burn off some energy.

We haven't been able to find the camera charger so I'm unable to get pictures of them, but I'll post pictures of what their colours look like, as well as the cage models.

If you're interested, let me know by email, or post here.  I check my email more often than I check forums, so that's the best way, but I'll certainly try and check back at least every few days on here while we're not busy.  :)  eternal-sunshine37  (at)  hotmail .

The cages are two-storey Ferretnation cages; they have more accessories than this photo shows:

I'd love to take them off your hands, but I'd have to do a bit more research before feeling competent enough to provide a proper home for them. I'm good with dogs and cats, but I know little about ferrets. Why, I didn't even know they could get by with something as small as a room for running in. Some pet care expert I am :-\

Hmmmmmmm....

I'd have to talk to my roommate, but I would be very interested in two. My one problem is I will be living out at the park during the summer in an RV, though I have some low power heat lamps from an anole I had a few years ago. I can probably look into building an outdoor habitat for while I'm on shift, and then keep them isnide at night...

Something to think about for sure. ^^

Heh, heh.. Carpet sharks indeed.

A lot of people just keep them in cages their whole lives.. but of course, like rabbits, they're MUCH happier and healthier (and much more fun!) with some out-of-cage time to get exercise and play around.

TJ:  Ah.. they'd probably love being outdoors part-time, as long as they weren't wet or directly in the sun, and no rodents or anything were able to get in.  I know at least two of them LOVE being on harnesses outside in summer; we have one harness that can go with them.  Honestly, I don't know much about how viable it would be to keep them outdoors in warm weather; that's something that'd have to be looked into.

Thanks for the quick replies.  :)
