SoFurry is basically a creepier, better looking version of FA. Maybe that will change if FA ever decides to re-write the back end for the entire site release the new UI do anything. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

I am not sure why many people like to take shots at FA's setup, I find it fine just how it is. The layout isnt really hard to navigate through at all, I would cringe if it was prettied up with todays version of prefered looks.  IE: the "I need to justify my graphic design course" look where its just a sea of shiny buttons and sliding menus that make everything feel slow and padded. What FA really needs is a service provider/ servers that will finally beat those lag-spike that FA is sadly know for

Furaffinity is lacking a bunch of features that are available on pretty much every other art site in existence (eg. folders) which are supposed to come out in the so-called "UI Update". On top of that FA has more security holes than I dare to count. Dragoneer, yak, etc inherited some terrible code that should have been rewritten ages ago (as was planned before they decided to "put that project on ice"). Basically they are building shit on top of more shit, even though, in the end, it is stil going to be shit.

Yeah the folder thing is the biggest thing FA is lacking. And a functioning group system (like dA but not the same) would be lovely.

I already got my account up (http://www.sofurry.com/user/view/profile?id=13693 if anyone's interested), and I must say, I do like it a lot already.

If there's one thing I like about it in comparison to the current FA, it's the emphasis on aesthetics.  I love the fact that I can craft my own banner for my page, how there is fresh featured artwork on the front page, and the site itself just looks... nice.  Not to mention the ability to upload images LARGER than 1280x1280 and audio files bigger than a measly 10MB.  The HD viewer is also pretty kickass.

It's actually pretty funny how I got my account here.  Someone said that this site used to be "yiffstar.com"  It turns out that I had an account there five or six years ago that I totally let die.  Then I go to make an account on SoFurry, and it's like, "the email address entered is already used on this site."  I was like o.=.o?  I used the password recovery and logged in and found some really old artwork.  It kinda baffled me because I knew I never made an account with SoFurry before.  Only after I realized the site's history as Yiffstar did I get a bit of a chuckle out of it.

SoFurry is a bit glitchy, as I've already found.  Hopefully they'll work the bugs out because I'm growing quite fond of it.

It's a novel thing at first, then it can get a bit weird, trust me. (When I first started posting stories to Usenet back in the stone ages, I'd often get rather biologically-themed comments and feedback... it'd be like "Well, glad to know that works!" But after a while, having people tell you what your story made them do can get a little creepy. =P )

This is one of my watchers on FA, just read his profile.  There are many of them similar to this.  It makes me sad, really, to think that someone like this thought my artwork suited their tastes. =\

Lol.. oh god.. that guy is watching me too I think. But no, what I mean was direct comments on my art or user page page going "like the spooge, made me fap so hard" XD I wasn't saying those people don't exist. I can be pretty bad myself when it comes to tastes and what I enjoy, but I would never air it like that haha.
