Dragon Ball Z Kai: Why..?

This has been bugging me FOREVER.  One of the most famous anime, Dragon Ball Z, was recreated.  This recreated version of this beloved anime is called 'Dragon Ball Z Kai'. But I've noticed only four differences:

1: Some scenes are mirrored.

2: Gohan sounds 20% more girly.

3: The quote: "It's over NINE THOUSAND!!!" has been edited to the original state from the manga.  Now it's: "Ugh, it's over eight thousand!"

4: All fillers are wiped from existence.  Like they should do with Naruto (except for the Naruto episode with the anthro jaguar dude. :D )

Other than those 4 reasons; what's the point of DBZ's recreation?

The quality is noticeably better, maybe only on the DVD/Blu-ray versions though. The main point of Kai was to re-package DBZ without all of the filler. While some filler is hilarious in a way (remember the episode where Goku and Piccollo got their driver's licenses? Oh man.), most of it is a total bore.

So yeah, it's just for anyone who wants to watch DBZ - but only the parts that mattered. So it's directed towards to those who have never watched the series before, or want to watch it again for nostalgia's sake without having to watch the absurd amount of filler episodes.

If the quality was like the opening sequence, it would be understandable, but the change is so small on the DVD and Blu-ray versions.  I'm glad they're starting to pay attention to fans of DBZ and staying true to the manga (no fillers, OVER EIGHT THOUSAND, etc.) by tweaking it a little, but they could of at least made the quality at least five times better if they really wanted the nostalgia feel to it.
