The west coast is comparatively mellow. Moreso here because we have a big island in front of us.

I remember this one huge thunderstorm a few years ago. I was still in highschool I think. It was an amazing night. I stayed up for the entire storm, just watching it out the windows at my friends house. I went outside for part of it too.

We get some big blows now and then so this isn't completely out of the ordinary, it does however make for some really neat imagery as blowing wind moves enough leaves that it looks like the edge of this slope in Queens park looked like a waterfall of leaves. A good 5x5m area was covered in flowing leaves for a good few moments, was pretty cool.

Heheh...I'm so ecstatic about the freezing sleet at the moment. xP

This is a momentary lapse in reason.  It is nothing compared to November-December 2006, when mother nature lobbed half a dozen storms (wind and snow) at the west coast.  Just drive through western Stanley Park and you can still see the aftermath.

Yeah that was a pretty big windstorm we just had, a tree fell in my pool lol

There is a statue/carving thing of a logger on a pole down the street from my house. The wind totally knocked it down the other night.

Oh, and it is snowing again.
