I'm curious. I'm thinking about getting a iPhone 3GS (man, horrible name...) now that they've been announced, but I'll have a redundant 3G after that. So, would anybody be interested in buying a locked (Rogers) White/16GB iPhone 3G? This is a refurbished, possibly new unit when I got it (I fell on my last one twice... and had it replaced under warranty). Supply your own SIM, and no contracts attached to it. It's got some light cosmetic damage - scratches on the apple logo on the back, but the screen has a protector over it, so there shouldn't be any problems there.

I'm thinking of offering it up for $150. But I'm just gathering interest so far.

For comparison -- if bought from Rogers, you're committed to a 3 year contract plus 99 for the 8GB 3G/199 for the 16GB 3GS/299 for the 32GB 3GS.

FYI, Rogers and Fido phones are interchangeable these days,, as long as your phone is from 2007 or newer.

I used to have a fido Nokia E62, and without any changes, other than downloading the internet settingd for it, I was able to use a rogers card in it.

Good move on Apple to finally support multimedia messaging on the 3GS model.  That was my biggest complaint.

How much are you paying for the 3GS, out of curiosity?

Acco

I don't know. I'm thinking that I wanna pay the completely unsubsidized price so I don't have to stay boun to my contract. That price is still unannounced >.>

Fido made ann announcement regaring said iphone, and my flakey memory seems to be telling me there was a price listed, but flakey memory is flakey.

I've been following all the pr stuff on Twitter before it's posted to their website. Subsidy pricing starts at 2 years. Non subsidy pricing is to be announced around June 19th

I have a question about the iPhone plans, I have been told that one must buy at least a $60/month iPhone plan, and if you don't rogers chargers you for one anyways.  Is this true.  i already have a voice plan, and it would be actually cheaper if I just added a data plan to it rather than cancelling my current plan and getting a new iPhone one

Can anyone clear this up for me

Silvermink

When I bought mine I just got a normal plan + 6GB data + iPhone addon pack (visual voicemail, etc.)

I suspect the unsubsidized price will be in the $600-800 range. The "official value" of my 3G when I bought it was slightly over $800.

You generally just have to add data to your phone. And you only need to be paying > a month if you want the subsidized price from Rogers. I don't know if you're ellegible for the 6gb/$30 if you buy from me though.

I think it can just be added to your plan. It's a limited-time special like it was when the 3G came out last year.
