Bah, the merger got me for a moment. Well, I'm done with my third year summer school classes for a while. I'm going to be open for a meet, but only when the term starts, though I'll try pulling a few strings. Heck, my uPass' last day exists on Aug 31, so I guess it'll work to squeeze every last opportunity out of it. In addition, I spend too much time in my dorm room for the first two years - I'm so slow to socializing with a crowd. xD

TL;DR : Yes, in advance, for during-the-term meet.

P.S. I guess it's time to think of a "UBC Meet Event" topic or somewhat sooner or later to be posted in the Lower Mainland Events section of the forum.  :P

Not to mention that IMAGINE UBC is a blast for first years. What better way to start off your university years with a raving party in the War Memorial Gym?

okay, i think I'll make a date in the events board. Well, August 31st was nice, but people were still moving in. How's the 10th or 17th of September? They're both Saturdays, and a week or so after school starts, a bit of time to get adjusted.
How's this? I'll set a time slot if people are interested in those days, but hopefully something on campus a little after noon.

It's already and hour and 15 minutes to commute to UBC for me >.<

I'm drawing a blank. Though I do know several places where UBC students like to hang out, such as Calhoun's, which is outside of UBC. Nevertheless it's still quite a distance from downtown, and I have no idea regarding the places where we could meet up there...other than, uh...UBC Robson Square?

Robson square sounds great, under the shade near the dried up ice rink (at least I think it's an ice rink)
it might have to be the 17th though.
I don't think a lot of people are keen on it being this Saturday afternoon.

So....have we made an event day yet?

Also! I have an idea. Why don't we make it at the evening on Friday! Then we can all have dinner together and nobody will have to travel far since most of us are there, or can simply wait on campus ^.^

I might as well holler! I'm a 4th year Biochem at UBC, but I'm stupid busy for the next month with the store I'm working at closing down and the free agent thing happening all next week at school, so I just can't hit up the Saturday get-together.

If anyone wants to chill during class break or something though just shout :3
