I'm just brewing suggestions for games that one could take to a get-together event of sorts. xP

To me, it has always been Super Smash Bros for the original N64. Reminds me of the great times during my first year in dorm, where the student lounge on the first floor is always occupied by a group of people playing SSB - and you're free to hop in whenever you want for most of the time.

Don't forget about a super awesome board game known as Catan. Worth the $40 for the core game if you got 4 people to play.

Haha i have never heard of that game before, but it sounds pretty interesting.

How about an ancient card game?

Scopa is a very old Italian card game that's quite fun to play. =^.^=
(I'm told that it's still played by old Italian men to this day. Just, don't touch the cards before you're supposed to, the knives come out quickly...)

Kirkus

Offline it would have to be each of the Smash Bros. The only game I can think of that I put more awesome hours into with friends than the original '64 and Melee would be Goldeneye 007 :3

Online there's no game I've played more with friends than Borderlands, and I'm surprised nobody else mentioned it! I played with 3 other friends through steam for a good 200 hours, and now I'm hitting it up all over again with Lament who's somewhere around these boards xP

Probably rockband if you have lots of songs on it. especially rockband 3 is fun with vocal harmonies(on bohemian rhapsody)

another favorite of mine that doesn't make your fingers hurt after hours of playing is the card game   Munchkin   it's a fairly simple to learn game with many expansions that can be shuffled into 1 giant deck.
Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going too fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.
