'kithop' again on LJ, no Twitter (isn't that what Facebook statuses are for? :P).  LJ is friendlocked so let me know if you want in. XD

No, no, other way around - Facebook statuses are what Twitter is for. :)

I'm on Facebook as well but am just not a fan. I'm tired of people bombarding me with 12372180361237 invites to things (and should probably just ignore all game invites or something).

If you wanna add me on LJ I'm silvermink there, but Twitter eats all my blogging energy nowadays so my LJ doesn't see a lot of attention.

*adds*  It's cool.  I never update my LJ either - just comment on other people's things. :p

I specifically hate facebook, and am boycotting it for a number of reasons, but the two main reasons were, people whom I never want to speak to again added my email address to heir facebook, and that is how it was advertised to me in my email.  And, it was only the people I hated/disliked, nobody whatsoever tha I actually wanted to asociate with.

The second being my sister was drunk, and a whole shitload of bad pictures were taken of her and posted on Facebook, and the users, as well as the facebook adminitrators refuse to take them down, even though there are laws against such things.

Nice... that's not good at all. :/  Totally understandable in that case.

I tried to resist Facebook a bit myself at first, but seeing as it was the only way I could get in touch with some of my old friends from middle school I caved.  I still block almost every app I come across, though.  I hate how it's degenerated into 'OMG WHICH FLAVOUR OF ICECREAM R U?!'. o_o;

I'm resisting Twitter for kind of the same reason, right now.  I have a LiveJournal but I hardly ever post in it... blah.  Once I save up some money, I might buy myself a proper domain name and web server, and just run my own blog and OpenID dealie.

I use livejournal, and have since I really went public furry on the internet.  It's actually very disappointing how many spinoffs of Lj there are out there, and how you can't link friends across domains.

I have Jeremymilne syndicated into my friends page, but it's a pain in the ass to comment using my openid, and then it only shows to livejournal users.

Just waiting on Google Wave. Then I can dump a ton of services all at once.

But, in the meantime, Twitter: AccoGrayfox

Twitter is surprisingly unannoying. It's really not like Facebook at all.

I still tend to think of this every time I think of Twitter, though:

XD

I went ahead and bought my own domain name, anyway.  Was up until 1AM last night getting mail working on it (stupid Shaw blocking outbound port 25.. still have to work around that) and have been putzing around with it today trying to get some other stuff going, including Drupal and phpMyID.

Of course now my modem at home seems to have offed itself so I can't even get a route back to it.  Argh. x.x

Yeah, so did I. People are generally pretty good about not tweeting every tiny detail of their lives, though, or at least the novelty of doing so wears off pretty quickly. :)

umm...  just use the shawmail.vs.shawcable.net smtp server as a smart host.  That works really well.

I was planning on getting around to that at some point, or using Google's GMail servers w/ SMTP Auth (isn't Shaw's old-school POP-before-SMTP?  I don't check my Shaw e-mail at home...)

Vanilla Skunk

No, it's anonymous.  No auth at all, you just have to be on a shaw ip to use it.

Kithop

Added a simple:

relayhost = [shawmail.vc.shawcable.net]

to postfix's main.cf.  Restart, and... it works. o_o;

Yay for subnet relays. o/`

Vanilla Skunk

You're welcome. :3

Now, back on topic.

I've created a vfur twitter and a vfur twibe. I'll be using the vfur twitter to post information about events as they come up providing a faster way to get a list and details about it. The vfur twibe is more of a group for the furries here using twitter, and can post stuff to it.
