I can only connect to BC furries some of the time, most of the time it says it cannot find the server, this is a recent development, it only happens with bc furries and only for the last couple days, is anyone else having this problem?

I had that issue myself for a day, Sevrin. I tracked it down to DNS issues; If you're on Shaw Cable service in the GVRD, you may or may not have difficulties at the moment, based on what DNS has been doing for both Shaw and by extension TekSavvy. Try setting your DNS to 8.8.8.8 (With an alternate of 8.8.4.4) to use Google DNS. That may clear it up, did the trick nicely for me.

Sevrin

thats a strange DNS but I'll give it a try...
I'm with telus so its not shaws fault

Sevrin

huh, well even though my computer said it was a bad idea it seems to have worked

FurryJackman

That's DNS poisoning for ya. Only using a different DNS server will get you access, since people have "poisoned" Shaw's DNS to not resolve this site.

I'm on Telus in the Kootenays and have been having the same problem.

Same here, think the admins need to get a better server XD

Selkit

I already told you gentlemen, that it has nothing to do with BCFurries itself, it's a DNS related issue. Before you cast moronic aspersions on the quality of service that administration pays for, Van (and you use free, I may add), read the prior postings. If you're having difficulties accessing the site, switch DNS to an alternate. I already posted one alternate, and there are others out there.

Well, he's right... It has nothing to do with the BCFurries server and everything to do with people poisoning your ISP's DNS server.

Oh man I had such bad problems with trying to connect to bcfurries.
But it seems were all cool now. Yup.
It's not the admins faults. There pretty cool peeps.  8)
