i took statistics last semester, and the teacher pretty much told us that 'statistics are bunk.' it really depends on what questions are asked, and where the sample came from. i'd like to see more proof personally. and i'd like to know who was asked, what is the sample, really?

Stats are not bunk  :)  but as any good marketer I will twist and manipulate statistics to my liking to convey my point.
and I would change many things with that particular survey which is full of loaded questions but as I said it is the best source I have found available.

Just gotta take 'em with a grain of salt and know who's presenting them and what their methodologies and motives might be. Like with any other kind of information, really.

There are plenty of reliable statistics derived through studies with sound methodologies, but equally there are plenty of lousy statistics that are only provided to put a veneer of science on something which is fundamentally crap. The trick is to know the difference, and not to throw out the good with the bad. :)

ok, moving back to the simpsons episode... I would hardly call that a negative light. There were three "furries" and no actual interaction, so... can't really paint a negative picture there. It also insinuated that straight people don't often go into gay bars, which I know isn't true, because women go to gay clubs to avoid being hit on.
Kind of looking forward to tomorrow's strange addiction episode. Anyone willing to put it up on megaupload for me? I won't be home from work until after midnight, so I'll miss both airings of it, >.o

and i agree about the simpsons episode, 3 furs plus bumblebee man wasn't really negative. plus 2 of the 4 were female.

I'm watching it right now, but there's no furry chicks in it. There's a chick addicted to tanning and a lady addicting to eating cleaning supplies. I think I missed tonight's new episode.

It was on at 6:00 pm. I have to agree it wasn't as bad as i predicted but still left me going what the heck did I just watch? Half the time I was sitting there going this stories plot is more twisted up then a pretzel.

So I guess there's NO chance that some one was able to upload it to megaupload for me or something huh? :\ I'll never know the craziness that happened in that episode.. this fing sucks.

it was pretty bad, no one really needs to see this. the only thing i noticed was they said all furries are into fursuiting, and 'many' of them use their suits while engaged in sexual activity. (who researches these facts anyways?) but aside from that it was just a girl who was maybe a little too much into fursuiting. i have people i know who are just as, if not more addicted to dr. who, and no one considers that a problem. but it talks about how the girl may have issues from her dad passing away and that her fursuiting stems from that. although the psychiatrist said that it wasn't a mental problem and that there was nothing to worry about, provided she doesn't go overboard. (which she is close to doing anyways.) it also mentioned how she had 'yet' to use her fursuit for sex, as if thats on everyone's minds here.

i give it a thumbs down, do not watch.

there was no crazyness. just some footage of a girl in a fursuit and close-ups of people who think she isn't right in the head. it was bad. :(
