On the topic of Nekojin and Kitsune, and other japanese bastardizations... The thing that gets ME the most is when people (mostly younger teenagers) mix japanese in their sentences. Like "OMG!!!! My Neko is so kawaii!!!" Like... really? Admittedly, when I was 13 I was one of those who did it... but not to that extent. I would mostly use one-word exclaimations, instead of mixing the two languages, X3

As for felines, canines and vulpines... I would have to say that wolves and other canines seem more common to me. I hardly see any felines anymore. my otherfursona is a feline. I like to switch it up, lol but I've never been the straight canine type (for those who argue that foxes are part of the canine family).
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, either way you're right.
Laugh, and the world laughs with you. Cry, and the world laughs harder.

Fangirls made it and then ruined it.
although kitsune just means fox, and the demon in mythology wasn't anthropomorphic at the time, that came after first european/western contact

1 as a fangirl i'm offended, D:<
2 we've already discerned that Kitsune, in japanese, likely means both fox-spirit and fox.

I had a look at the member list, and I thought fuck it.  :-X Way too big. Half the furs don't have species recognizable avatars - and a lot them on there aren't even active on the site at all!  :P

*wags all five tails*
i like you. *hugs*

The tails get that response a lot, especially in winter, for some reason.

I have noticed a LOT more human characters, a lot more neko and monster characters, just new and interesting things.

Sorry to do this, but it is a pet peeve of mine. Neko just means cat and its pronounced neh-koh, not nee-koh. The american anime fandom has taken that and warped it to mean people with animal ears and tails, even going so far as to say something ridiculous as nekoized wolf.

Cant change that, it still gonna be pronounced Nee-koh. Besides, if it wasnt for Caucasins, Anime would never be as popular as it is today.

Roxxy_Starrz

It would be interesting to see what the majority is on this forum for fursona's. ^^
I think I would fall in to the category of 'interesting things' though XD
