I've never played Morrowind, but I'm curious, what did it have that Oblivion lacked?

it had much much much more content, a lot more spells, more skills, more weapons, more armor, and there was a lot of different dynamics. for instance the quality of the item affected how good the enchantment on it could be. you could lock doors! essentially you could own any house in the game. there was light, medium and heavy armor. there were spears. (i dont give a damn about spears, but they were there.) you could be a werewolf in the bloodmoon expansion! daggers, short swords, long swords and claymores all had a seperate skill you had to level. same with maces and axes. you could kill anybody, even important NPC's, but it would tell you to reload the game if you did.
i could go on, but i havent played morrowind since oblivion came out and that was a while ago.

I see. Sounds cool. People have always bitched about Morrowind being better than Oblivion, and I've never understood why up until now.  :o

better is a relative term, i think. oblivion is stunning visually, and becasue of that i can't go back to morrowind. and the species of Kajit and argonian were different, and so they couldnt wear boots or close faced helms. that was a bummer.

Fun gameplay, a well written story, pole arm weapons, a good spell system... characters that felt almost real... A skill set that made sense? (I'm sorry, but swinging a two handed claymore is NOT the same skill as using a pocket knife!).

What else... hmm... its vampire system was much better, its setting, although not as nice artistically was far more fleshed out. It was a world you could lose yourself in while playing, unlike oblivion where I found all I could do was run around giggling as I slaughtered villagers and battled off the guards.

It was balanced?

It was ten times better in countless ways, its graphics just lacked the polish.

I hope the new one is some kind of amazing lovechild composed of all the best things from the series.  :birdy:

And they don't remove the door glitch, because this was the best way to pass the time.
